I'm in for the London event 2 cigars and some drinks for that money. I know. I know. I'm a bit of a sucker for it.

There are events at 75£ for one cigar in the Midlands. And our favourite Scottish retailer 100£ for the 2 cigar pack event.

Eh. Why not. I mean I'm not going to be buying any more sticks at 72£+ hard pass for the likes of me.

Anyone else lighting one up at 6.30 on the 1st Nov?

I can get that. Would be fun if you know some people going too. Enjoy!

I’d be afraid I really like them :)

There are so many cigars I enjoy that I can no longer afford. What's another 50 cab to add to the list!?

$4,500 for a box....that is utterly ridiculous.

It is, although ~3500 with VAT refund it starts to be a better proposition (5 boxes of PL Legendarios would cost similarly, and other RE 50 cabs are approaching or have exceeded that value (Kon Tiki, Alemagaro, etc)…it’s utter nonsense, but they’ll have zero problem selling them.

I would definitely buy/trade some singles with someone!  OG company dropping 💣 lately! But anything over 2k for a cab is 🥜

I would guess the factory is nicknamed either Jibara (LTA) or Felina No. 2 (OEG) on the PDF based on codes we’ve seen on the past 5 years of R+J Churchills (they reference Julieta No. 2 proficiency as a driving factor for choosing the factory). Anything is possible, though, of course!

4k a box? I was so going to take a trip to London for these too. 4k? no way. wtf, I hate habanos right now.

That's not all HSA. All the boxes run through H & F and therefore UK duties. If this were a Spain ER they'd likely be priced around $1,500.

For any UK release your best bet is to inquire in Gibraltar which is exempt from mainland duties.

But if you're taking them out of the UK you can get the tax refunded right?

But still.

UK duties on a $1500 box would be 25% Customs Duty @ $375, Excise Duty @ $270 and VAT at $375, that's $2500. There's $1500 margin there.
The current Spanish ER is around $800 for 50, that's with 10% Spanish Tax (I think). Even adding UK taxes to an $800 box it would be maximum $1500.

Duty is 367.71£ per kilo for cigars.

3600£

Vat on this is 600£

So 3000£ say 20% for the retailer?

So 2400£ - duty on 50 cigars by weight 295£

So 2105£ per box for h&f?
