Popular Post Ford2112 Posted October 2, 2023 Popular Post Posted October 2, 2023 Watching football today after with some burgers off the grill, I decided to dig out this Oliva Serie V Anniversary Edicion Limitada for the review. I like the presentation of these and bought a single at my local Brick and Mortar on a whim. It's been resting in my humidor for a while now. Paired this with a Cran-Cherry juice cocktail. I think the shape of this perfect style cigar is pretty neat! Oily clean looking wrapper. Nice aroma of leather and sweet tobacco pre light. Perfect draw. 1st third. Under medium with lots of smoke output. Lighter than I expected. Nice toasted tobacco flavor with a touch of light pepper, sweetness (anise?) and some coffee and cocoa noted. Slow build. This had some burn issues going into the second third. I had to touch up several times. The flavors haven't evolved much. Right at medium now. I'm getting a weird after flavor . I can't put my finger on it but it's got some saltiness going in and out. Still putting out lots of smoke. Flavors are still coffee and leather dominant with some white pepper. Enjoyable albeit not very complex. Final 3rd. It's a bit salty, the sweetness is totally gone which is too bad. Like I said enjoyable albeit not very complex cigar. I had to touch up a few times throughout the smoke, and relight it at about an inch and a half left. It never got acrid, no real edges and I nubbed it . In summary. I liked it enough but not sure I would pick this over a Melanio. Had the construction been a bit more solid and kept that sweet anise note in the first inch or so, I'd rate it a solid 92. May revisit, may not. 89 points. More than the Raiders will score this season 🙄🙄. 6
