El Presidente Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 Thoughts? If someone has seen one in the flesh, chime on in. PRESS RELEASE Artist and blender of Selected Tobacco, Nelson Alfonso, has created three porcelain ashtrays, each uniquely designed to pay homage to the timeless beauty of the tobacco plant’s flower. These luxurious ashtrays are presented in designer boxes and are inspired by the rich history of the Byron Cigar line. “We are thrilled to introduce these porcelain ashtrays by Nelson Alfonso,” said Oliver Nivaud, Director of Operations for United Cigars. “These ashtrays embody the spirit of luxury and craftsmanship that Byron Cigars are known for. They are a true testament to Nelson Alfonso’s talent and dedication to his craft.” These porcelain ashtrays are now available for purchase and can be found at select luxury retailers. The Byron Collection will have an individual retail price of $250 per ashtray.
Corylax18 Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 I like the blue one. I don't like it for 250 bucks though, $50? Sure, but not $250. The marketing is just too damn much though. "Artist and blender of Selected Tobacco, Nelson Alfonso" Like Everyone else just blends whatever tobacco they find on the street. 😅 1
hawkeye5050 Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 I am a big fan of his Cigars and would encourage anyone to learn more about his aging process. I think that aging process is his claim to fame for cigars. I'm sure other appreciate his Behike box designs, ashtrays and other 'art' but Ill stick to the cigars. Bit about the aging - https://cigar-coop.com/2023/05/cigar-review-alfonso-anejo-no-2-by-selected-tobacco.html#:~:text=Normally Alfonso has aged his, aging process of five years. Video - he talks about his aging rooms and process in detail 1
Dr vonPuffenberg Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 Looks cool, but I got a beautiful Fuente porcelain ashtray for around $60 1
Ford2112 Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 Next ashtray I get will be an old abalone shell
BrightonCorgi Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 This ashtray has been in use in my locale for over 400 years 2 1
Cigar Surgeon Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 I think they're pretty nice looking. Not sure I'd shell out $250 but still pretty nice. Best ashtray I've seen is still the Czevitrum Salamander ashtrays. Stunners. https://halfwheel.com/czevitrum-salamander-ashtray/374835/
LOMTL Posted January 31, 2024 Posted January 31, 2024 Designed by Nelson Alfonso as well, perfect for DCs and home defense, with over a kilo of ceramic! 1
jazzboypro Posted January 31, 2024 Posted January 31, 2024 These fall in the same category as the $110 wine glass in another thread. Don't need that to enjoy my cigar.
