Mine arrived in perfect shape this afternoon.  Gave them a "front row" in the humidor - away for a 60 day wait.  Won't smoke one ROTT - learned on the other deliveries.  Way better if you wait 60 to 90 days and since my 2021 Nudie Carlotas and Lanceros are smoking lights-out right now - I can wait!  Thanks to the FOH staff !

Are those the Fuente Sun Grown Magnum R’s by any chance?

Very good eye! Yes they are - the Magnum 44's from 2017.  The last 9 of them I have left from two boxes I purchased that year.  They are a once in while NC treat in my rotation and my son-in-laws favorite.

2 boxes! That’s 88 sticks, crazy

I had the pleasure of having the Magnum R 54s lately and was blown away by how much I liked them.

Have a chance to buy the 44s at the moment from a shop I’m looking at but was hesitating to pull the trigger on 44 cigars I’ve never tried before.

Your words have given me the confidence to go ahead and pull the trigger.

Say, do these Fuentes get better with age? They taste very refined and aged for me right out of the box already

Just ordered a bundle.  What's the general consensus on RH for these/nudies?  More in line with NC (65-68) or Cuban (60-63)?

Yes, they do.  Luckily, I have a lot of storage room and have been buying CC's and NC's pretty heavy since 2017.  I pretty much give every cigar 90 days and then naturally age most of my cigars due to having an extensive rotation.  Most new cigars go into "cold, long-term storage" and eventually emerge to a large, "Ready to smoke now" wall humidor in my office.  I normally stare at the cigars in the office humidor trying to determine what I have a taste for today.  Right now there are ~ 33 different cigars in my current smoking rotation.  I first bought the Mag 44's just because my Son-in-Law liked them.  He's now more of a fan of the Mag 52's however, I like the size of the 44's better and they are more in my wheel-house.

I tend to favor sweet leather, nutty and savory baking spices in my cigars.  Big fan of anything Boli, Sancho Panza or Partagas in the CC world. Once the 44's age a little - what my palate calls red pepper really mellows out allowing some of the other flavors to shine.  I also find that the red pepper mellows to cinnamon a little more which is another sought after flavor.  Honestly, they are pretty good from the start and just keep getting better.  I am not against pepper or red pepper in a cigar -- one of my favorite "change of pace cigars" right now is a Rojas Barbacoa Street Taco.  That's a red pepper bomb but shades itself more towards the Mexican spicy side which is a real treat.

Young R-44 is leather, red pepper, woody with a slightly nutty flavor.  Strong to medium body and strength.

> 3 or 4 years a R-44 is sweet leather, cinnamon, nutmeg and toast.  Pure medium body and strength.

It's not a CC and really has almost no transitions through the thirds but, I believe just like a good CC a good NC matures over time and flavors change

Exactly. It's a lot simpler, just "Move On From Overpriced Habanos"

Gorgeous.  They smell like chocolate chip cookies.  Hoping to get one in before winter sets in (who am I kidding, I'm going to smoke one regardless of weather.)
