Popular Post El Presidente Posted September 13, 2023 Popular Post Posted September 13, 2023 In the MOFOH range of cigars, Hamlet and I work closely with our selected FOH tasting Panel to finetune the blend. The MOFOH line of cigars are genuinely “of the people, for the people, by the people” Our first cigar in the MOFOH lineup is the Spada Gorda which is 46 gauge x 150mm (5 7/8 # ) If I had a flavour profile that I wanted to aim for, it was Trinidad Coloniales meets H. Upmann Magnum 46.It was an achievable profile with the tobacco that we have to play with. All tobacco is 4+ years aged. How close did we get? FOH Tasting Panel Combined Tasting Notes 2023 Spada Gorda “ Opens medium bodied. Fresh baked sourdough and milk chocolate. Some savoury spices play on the edges. The retrohale is creamy and decadent. Second third transitions to baking spices with a salty hazelnut finish. Medium to just over medium at times. Last third is all bakery, driftwood, savoury spices finishing medium full” Price: $235 USD Available Friday the 15 of September Local. 18 2

Spada Gorda is predominantly 5 year old Honduran with a touch of Nicaraguan. There is one leaf we use that is bringing that "bakery" aspect. I don't think anyone else uses it in the region. We only call it by a code name. 5
Gamehawker Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 Is the wrapper a Colorado Rosado wrapper like the 2023 Puro Desnudo cigars?
JoeyBones777 Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 Well, I've gotten a bundle of each one so far. Don't see why I would stop now. I'm going to just treat Nudies/MoFOH like Pokémon and collect them all! 2
HoyoFan Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 Can’t wait for these Rob. Silly question: would you say these are on par or above the Nudie Canonazo in strength?

The tasting panel had a light-medium version in the mix, but unanimously chose this direction. 2

Should they rest for about 30 days (after the ROTT smoke of one) like the 2023 Puro Desnudo cigars?

This I cannot help but respond to. The experienced panel is made up of fellow FOH members, likely chosen because of our diverse preferences. I would ask you this: If after a 17 hour flight to the other side of the planet, the reception committee offers you toasted bagels with one of three. Fruit and Cream Cheese spread Smoked Salmon and Capers Sausage and Cheese. Choose 1, and the other 2/3rds of us will tell you why you’re wrong!🤣 4

PauvreLelian Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 @El Presidente Question: will the MOFOH Spada Gorda also experience blend changes from year to year like the Nudies or will it be the same from now on?

The 2023 blends will be our base blends moving forward. Each year cigars need to be reblended to achieve the same flavour profile/consistency. Normally it is a tweak hear and a tweak there.
SCgarman Posted September 15, 2023 Posted September 15, 2023 Just ordered a bundle. If these are as good as the Canonazo winner, winner! Love the corona Gorda size. Are the wrappers as "Rosado" as that bundle image? They are reddish.
dominattorney Posted September 15, 2023 Posted September 15, 2023 Never have I been more eager to try a cigar.
Fireball Posted September 15, 2023 Posted September 15, 2023 So the nudies are not MOFOH? Could someone articulate the difference?Don’t get me wrong, I buy first, ask questions later. Lol

The wrapper range for Desnudo/Nudies and MOFOH will range from Colorado Claro to Colorado to Colorado Cafe to Rosado. We love the quality wrapper leaf we are using. Naturally, each bundle is colour sorted by Wendy. I would say that in the main they are Colorado cafe.
