early days but that may not have gone as planned. not sure you could have backed the jets against the bills, if you'd known Rodgers was out from near the beginning. suddenly, the jets become really interesting.

I mean you're not wrong in that regard. After watching the Netflix documentary on last season I have a newfound respect for the work he puts in; the guy is committed. With that being said, I would hope if my franchise quarterback was preparing that much and that well he'd be a little better than a middle of the road QB. 

Still injuries happen every year and teams get desperate. I wouldn't be surprised if the Jets try and bring in someone other than Wilson for this year, cause that D looks SB ready now. Be a shame to waste another year with Wilson at the helm.

i understand Matt Ryan would be keen. otherwise, rg3? tim tebow? colin kapernick?

it is horrible luck but as someone said, makes the Ryan Fitzpatrick era in Washington look epic.

They were the paper champions last year and some feel that way again this year. Not a Pats fan. If you watch the film, Allen was a turnover machine at Wyoming. Since he has entered the league he is #1 in turnovers with 88. Bills still don't have a running game unless they are going to put it on Allen. They struggled in the red zone last night (as they did last year), with only one TD. Oh and Allen is holding on to his turnover title with 4 vs the Jets. All of those throws were ill advised. Across his body, no disciplined foot work and into double coverage. Diggs badgering the coaching staff under the cameras doesn't help either. One game doesn't mirror the season but I think the league has figured Allen and the Bills out. John

OK it was against the Vikes but it was away and we didn't lead any real stat ......except for the scoreboard 

Let's face it, the Bucs are playing for draftpicks this season. We went "all in" with Brady and that was a success. Pain to enschew.

What?!? It's not 2016, none of those quarterbacks have played in years and years. RG3 is in the broadcasting booth, Kapernick sealed his future when he sued the NFL and who the hell knows what Tebow has been doing. Also, Tebow and RG3 weren't even good in their "prime" why would any team be interested in them at this point?

Joe Flacco makes the most sense, really he's the only guy that makes much sense at all. He played for the jets last year (and the two previous years), he knows the offense, he's worked with the coaches and Zach Wilson before. He can come in a get "up to speed" in am matter of minutes. There isn't anyone available right now who is a plug and play starter, they've tied their future to Zach Wilson, Flacco, or any other option would just be a veteran backup who could help Wilson thrive. Maybe start a game or two if Wilson gets hurt, but baring a trade, its going to be near impossible to find a better option than Wilson on the market.

He certainly had a few good seasons, but his team mates have universally hated him and he has a major history with injuries too. His ultra religious "Holier than though" attitude has not been well received anywhere he's played.

Fellow Buffalo fan here. Man, that bold statement is looking bolder after Monday's disaster! Since 2020, I thought Josh Allen would play 15 years in Buffalo, but not so sure about that anymore due to the turnover issues. I think he might have peaked in the 2021 playoffs. As for this season, I'm still hopeful that a second WR breaks out, the running game improves, and the defense to get better when Von Miller returns.

And to think all the buzz in the off season was Aaron Rodgers was going to take the Jets straight to the Super Bowl! Damn. It lasted 4 plays in the first quarter. I turned on the game maybe 30-45 minutes late after it started and wondered where Rodgers was. I can only conclude the Jets are indeed cursed, some way some how. Now my Giants had their arses handed to them by Dallas, but that pales in comparison to what happened to the Jets. At Rodger's age and considering his injury it's fair to say he's likely done.

They're definitely going to have to pick up a veteran QB.  At the very least there's a good probability of Zach being injured behind this subpar oline and then the Jets are really boned.

Top candidates as I understand it are Flacco (team won't bring him back), Wentz, McCoy, Ryan (too old). They could potentially trade for Jameis or Brissett I think this is the most likely outcome.  I'm also expecting a decision to be made before the end of next week.

There's a very real possibility that Saleh's job is on the line this year if the Jets don't perform well.  I think that's equally true for 2024 for Joe Douglas.
