$1400 for box of cigars you don't even know what to expect from. RyJ for me has been disappointing to in the last 5 years or so. Where I used to get coffee and fruits in like the belicoso and ex.4 I just get a mouthful of wood. If you can swing it and it makes you happy, more power to ya, but spending outrageous prices just to try something just isn't my thing. I'm afraid I'll never stray from regular production again at this point.

Germany has very reasonable duties / tobacco taxes too (in an EU context anyway)

Try 20 years for me. Last very good RyJ I had was an 03 Ex 4. I recently had a Grand Churchills. $300 cigar. I thought it was as good as standard Churchills should be. This is the best they can do with RyJ?

As far as the LdO line from what I've smoked I really wouldn't consider them in the RyJ brand. I think it's more accurate to consider them a separate brand. They are good but overpriced at the current price point. 

The only caveat is that it appears they seem to be putting effort into these recent LCDH luxury box releases. The JLSE and LGC Glorias are very good and I hear the Partagas Aliados is good as well. That said I would say there's an outside chance these Cupidos are above average but very good is unlikely. And how they're more than the $50 JLSE and $45 LGC is beyond me.

We were discussing this the other day on FOH Zoom regarding cars during Covid. 

If you had a car ....ready to go....today....you could attract 20%+ over sticker price. 

There are people in this world  with plenty of coin who have no wish to wait
