MIAMI - JetBlue announced Thursday that it will suspend all routes to Cuba with the final day of service being September 17, 2023.  

In 2016, JetBlue made history by becoming the first U.S. airline to operate a commercial flight between the two countries in more than 50 years.

"Demand for travel to the island has been significantly affected by changes to the regulatory landscape and restrictions on our customers' ability to enter Cuba. We look forward to resuming our service to Havana and continuing to pursue opportunities within Cuba should travel become more accessible in the future," airline officials said. 

JetBlue said they will be providing full refunds to affected customers.

 

This isn't great - Jetblue's Saturday schedule from JFK was perfect. 9am departure flight and a return flight that got you in at 5pm...also that 5pm shift change was very good for moving quickly through customs undetected.

EWR has daily United direct flights, but they're small Embraer 170/175s. JetBlue was flying A320s.

American and Delta flights all stop in MIA both ways.

The Newark flights will be the only direct flights to Havana out of the northeast US starting Sept. 17...

Actually, I looked at booking out of EWR with United and they’re flying direct until end of October. After that you have to take connecting flights thru Houston and then to Havana. I don’t know when it will officially stop. At one point I saw October 7th as the last direct flight. I don’t know if they might change their time if they’re to pick up stragglers from the defunct JB routes. Who knows what they’ll decide but I looked a few minutes ago and I see dates in November without direct flights out of EWR. I’ve been on recent flights to HAV from EWR and those flights are just not selling the seats I’m sure they’d hope for. Chances are they too will trim back.

Jet Blue's last JFK - HAV is September 2nd...mañana.  
United's last EWR - HAV is October 28th.
