I cant wait for the season to start! The New York Football Giants are looking better than last year, but the NFC East looks like its going to be a very Tough division again this year. I'm hopeful we can get three teams into the playoffs again, like last year. The Eagles are going to be tough again, Dallas doesn't seem to have improved much, but they'll definitely be competitive (during the regular season 😅) The Commies hit rock bottom last year and I think its going to be a long road uphill for them.

On the college side, who knows. My Colorado State Rams haven't been very good for years, I expect more of the same this year. It could be the last year of the Mountain west Division before the remnants of it Merge with the scraps that where left behind in the PAC 12. College football is going through some massive changes over the last few years and into the next few. Between NIL money and the realignment into a few mega conferences college football as we knew it is a thing of the past.

The Vikings still have Kirk Cousins…😔

I’m looking forward to watching DJ Moore playing in a Bears uniform as we battle it out with Green Bay and the Vikes for worst team in the NFC North. Bears are currently tearing down my beloved Arlington Park, so they’re more in the shit house with me than ever.

Demolition continues at the former Arlington International Racecourse in Arlington Heights, Aug. 1, 2023.

Panthers are going to be a shit show. 7-10 best case. More likely 3 or 4 wins. I hope DJ Moore has 2000 yds. receiving. They were stupid for trading him. Don't even get me started on Christian McCaffrey.

This is an unusual spot for me. For the first time in my 30 some odd years on this earth I have decent expectations for my hometown team. Decades of irrelevancy has me questioning that what we saw at the end of the last season was 'fools good'.  Of course, I'm talking about the Detroit Lions.

The NFC North is looking ripe for the taking with Rodgers out of the division. Vikes still have Cousins and so long as Fields doesn't learn to throw we should be in good shape......however, this is the Lions we're talking about. Screwing things up is a treasured past time for this club.

As for the college game, I'm a Michigan State Spartan fan......not much to look forward to this year. Hopefully we play our rivals tough and somehow squeak out 6+ wins and make a bowl game. Anything less than 6 wins and the seat starts to get reallllll warm for that new shiny expensive coach we just bought last year.

Lots of unknowns with Chiefs. Dont have any receivers that would be no 1s on any other team. They lost a couple from O line. All Pro DT Chris Jones is holding out. I predict 11-6.

The Titans of New York have expectations that couldn't possibly be any higher and the media started building a Super Bowl or bust narrative weeks ago.

I just want to win some game, be competitive.

We play them @ NY Oct 1st for SNF. Mahomes against Rodgers. No ratings hype there! Jets have more eyes on them than any other team. Like Brady's 1st year at TB

My goals for that game are:

  1. Don't be drunk before the fourth quarter
  2. No injuries for either team
  3. Don't embarrass ourselves

Damn, my goal is half-time. Shooting for the stars on that one.

Jets are loaded on both sides.  They may very well go long in the playoffs if they stay healthy.  Hope my Bengals can sweep the Ravens but that is a tall order.

Hate to say it but my beloved Buckeyes will probably fall again to Michigan.  The same top college teams just keep reloading.

Washington, whatever name they choose for this year - i still like commodes - hits rock bottom most years. but seriously, if we can't knock off those wannabees from new York it will be a new low.

positives -

finally, slimy dan is gone. how good! the entire mood and attitude of the team, players, fans is a million times better. woohoo. no team had a better offseason than us. getting rid of pondscum and shewolf is enormous.

young is back and looking good, with a prove it year ahead of him.

the defensive line could easily be the best in football, this season.

there is a trio of seriously talented WRs. looking like the best set we have had since the glory days of the posse.

secondary is looking better than expected. the new corner, our first round draft pick, might weigh all of 12 pounds wringing wet but apparently is looking fabulous.

so far, we have only lost one player for the season to injury. has to be a new record.

Howell is looking very promising. very early on that, of course, but could be exciting.

if you look at the figures/salary cap for the next few years, the other three NFC East teams are all paying their QBs around $350 mill, give or take. Washington is paying ours about $80 grand plus some loose change. that has to bite eventually.

did i mention we got rid of slimy dan?

negatives -

he might be gone - ding dong, the witch is dead - but it will take some time to completely get rid of the stench of slimy dan.

apparently one needs an O line. the search party is still out for ours.

LBs and TEs. we have some. just not absolutely pro bowl level at this stage.

if Howell turns out not to be what we hope/think (although the guy already has a 100% winning record against dallas and that makes him a Washington legend already), it would be Brissett behind a very leaky O line. possibly not likely to induce dreams of the superbowl.

apparently it is taking a number of players some time to adjust to the coaching of Eric Bienemy (you'd think the track record with mahomes and chiefs would be enough to get them on board), as, and say it ain't so, he is expecting them to work hard. this has come as a shock to people paid millions of dollars to play a few games of football a year.

we are in a very tough division (two years ago, NFC East was the easybeats with no team, if i remember correctly, having a winning record). dallas and the iggles will both be top teams in the NFC this season and hard to beat. the only points you'd like to think will be relatively easy will be the games against ny.

A petition has been started to bring back the Redskins name. While they are not my team, I still consider them the Redskins. They had that name for longer than any of us alive. Bowing to the mob was pitiful. I hope they become the Redskins again. I wish them all the best sans Daniel Snyder.

Really good signs from Washington's new owners.  Agree with Ken that it will take some time to wash off the Snyder stink.  Two main things for me for them is a new stadium and what they do with the front office which has performed poorly IMHO.

Agree most with Ken on the team as well.  Biggest weakness is the Offensive Line and while the reporting had them performing well against the Ravens recently the jury is still out for me on this unit.  I think the coaches think that their defensive schemes negate the need for better play at LB.  We'll see.  The tight ends are going to have to step up and stay healthy.

Not an easy schedule this year either.

NCAA…Buckeye fan!…2-3 loses for sure this year.

We are the biggest boom/bust team.  Especially as long as we have a sus kicker in the best division in football.

Where do you prefer a new stadium? Within DC city limits, Maryland or Virginia? Finding a large chunk of real estate may be an issue.

The RFK site seems like a no brainer to me. Of course there would be some extra cost to knock down what's left of the stadium (its already being dismantled) but you could save lots of money by reusing the existing infrastructure around/underneath it.

Buckeye fan also. Who do you think are the 2-3 losses?  Michigan for sure, possibly Penn State?  If they have 2-3 losses rumblings will start to replace Day.

Personally I prefer the old RFK site in the District.  As a kid I would sometimes walk across the Sousa Bridge and past the District Jail to go to the stadium.  Or catch the bus.  Heh.  Problem is with the City Council.  So many morons.

Would a modern size stadium fit into the old site? They would likely want at least 70K capacity. Add to that enough parking for all those cars.

As a TB fan, Trask (QB) has plenty of questions on him. He answered a few of them against the Jets.

Mayfield will likely start the season but I saw enough in Trask to be a little more comfortable.

We will still likely finish last in our division........but
