This to me is the biggest loss - as someone raised to be financially restrained, if not frugal, on personal indulgences, I can’t derive as much enjoyment from something I know is a poor value. I’m surprised how much it is already detracting from my enjoyment, even though I purchased 99% of my cigars “BC.” Habanos, particularly with Cohiba and Trini, has reorientated their marketing towards a client who gets at least as much pleasure from the “exclusivity” of a cigar as they do from actually smoking it. Naturally that doesn’t cover everyone still buying Cohiba - it just means that’s the new Habanos target audience. It’s an attitude entirely incongruent with my nature. But them’s the breaks. Gotta just move on. Oh and I forgot to add Monte Especials to my list. 7 4

Gotta just move on. Oh and I forgot to add Monte Especials to my list. That is a sadness for me as well. The current focus on market value can obliviate the sheer love of a wonderful Habano. ...And it can complicate the simple sharing of flavors. To El Presidente's OP question, and echoing others, I do miss seeing more of the wonderful Partagás 8-9-8 (love a Dalias), and would also welcome a Britanicas Extra (and can't wait for the 109) -- that is, if you're looking for more Desnudos vitolas! 4
jfire Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 Party 898V (out of stock in humidor) Siglo III (low and won’t touch them) Ask me this in 7 years and I’ll say all of them. I haven’t bought replacements in 2 plus years due to the cost. 3 1

Expanding up on a sentiment shared in a few posts - these negative emotions presently related to something we all enjoy, what hurts the absolute most, none of it had to be this way.
winelover Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 Serie du Connaisseur - the no.1s were perhaps my favourite smoke ever Boli Corona Gigantes Orherwise Cubans across the board. Luxury goods now in so many instances. 4
griller Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 For me... --RA 898; --SLR Serie A; --Trinidad Fundadores; I'm with others here regarding the hard wired value proposition in my mind. Digging into my 'dor has me questioning "...do I REALLY want a Cuban since I'm unwilling to spend the $$ for a future box investment" or will a Nudie, Illusione, or other NW scratch this itch. Just smoked a tremendous Epi 1 from an '18 box that has been sick literally until today, but now I'm going to be in horde mode for the remaining 18 cigars left in that box... 3

I've seen 22 boxes of MdO4 so yes, they are still in production. Haven't seen them for sale since 2020 and they haven't been readily available since 2018. I vividly recall in Nov 17 they were stacked floor to ceiling in every LCDH in Cuba. It is a little perplexing why they're so scarce. Are there really that many of these going to China and the middle east? It's always been kind of an insider's cigar. 2 1
HailState Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 I haven’t been in the hobby long enough to have 2 cigars I miss smoking the most due to prices/supply issues. But I do have a couple I’ve never tried/been able to procure that I don’t think I’ll be able to get my hands on. Partagas Lusitania Hoyo DC Everything I hear about Cuban DC’s makes me wish I would’ve gotten into CC’s much sooner! 2
Popular Post Ford2112 Posted July 31, 2023 Popular Post Posted July 31, 2023 In my opinion every cigar marque should have a lonsdale and churchill sized cigar. Coronas as well. 6

Would you choose MdO4 over Montecristo Especial No.1 when it comes to thin cigars?, There are two boxes left of those Espe in the LaCasa nearby but I don't want to rush, They will be getting a new shipment soon and the list mentions La Gloria Cubana La Gloria, Cohiba Siglo VI (they already have Esplendidos at $200/ stick).

Or ist that a purely hypothetical question? Apart from that... 6 hours ago, Arabian said: There are two boxes left of those Espe in the LaCasa nearby Grab them! Both! 1

I've had several Glorias and I find them absolutely fantastic. The Turquinos are also good but the Glorias are a cut above, and at 3 times the price should be. 9 hours ago, Arabian said: Would you choose MdO4 over Montecristo Especial No.1 when it comes to thin cigars? Both very different and I would say impossible to directly compare. The MdO4 is also both substantially cheaper and smaller than the ME. I think a better comparison is the PLMC vs the MdO4 and between those I would pick the PL under 3 years and the MdO4 over 3 years. 1
kaleehb Posted August 1, 2023 Posted August 1, 2023 Dip #4 and Trinny Fundies Didn’t know what we had until they are no longer accessible. 😔 1

Cuban cigars in general. Whilst many will unwillingly accept (tolerate), for me, the latest prices of Cuban cigars is no longer justifiable to enjoy a bundle of decomposing tobacco leaves. Cuban leaf still seems far superior to NC leaf, but fortunately there are plenty of NC's for my taste buds to explore. Rob, if it weren't for this site, I would have given up on Cubans many years back. 1

Rob, if it weren't for this site, I would have given up on Cubans many years back. That's the thing right there. When you stop to think about paying hard earned money on overpriced "decomposing tobacco leaves" you begin to feel bad about the hobby and it's not supposed to feel like that - just don't make any sense. We all agree that cuban cigars are more tasty compared to NC's, but when it comes to the pricetag, you do not feel robbed when buying NCs. Thank God we have Nudies, otherwise, I would probably just drop smoking cigars. 1
loose_axle Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 Trinidad Fundadores RA Gigantes Just won't pay the new pricing. 1
havanaclub Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 Choix. Can’t find em. Any trinny or cohiba, won’t pay those prices. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
Hugomarink Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 For me it's the SLR Regio and SLR Series A. They were my definite "go to" Havanas for about 20 years. 4
