What tool are you using for your cigar collection management? 

For anyone with more than a few boxes, I urge you (if you haven't already), to keep an accurate  record of what you have. 

From robbery to an untimely passing, just keeping an up to date and simple list makes it so much easier for yourself.....or if you are suddenly no longer here ....your next of kin. 

Readily locateable spreadsheet is fine. 

CCW Collection management system probably better.

I have no need for a CMS or an account of my cigars. When I drop, so will the vultures. My stash will be conveniently raided before my body has gone cold.

And truthfully, I have instructions in my will on how to dispose of my cigars/wines, and who is in charge of that.

I use an app on my phone called Cigar Scanner. I like that I can track my collection by humidor. Helps me find cigars I’m looking for fast!  It was free and is pretty good. If interested in trying you need to go to www.cigarscanner.com. It doesn’t show up in the Apple App Store.

Excel on Google docs. Love the phone access. I also keep a smoking log on a google doc since my last inventory. With the two you can get a pretty close stick count. 
My wife has no interest in my collection. She knows where it is and that it has value - at least to me. But has not asked for total value or potential roi.

Obviously, I use the Cuban Cigar Website Management system. It's up to date and you can even add your Non-Cuban inventory (manually) too!

The lizards and I have agreed to support each others families to liquidate our collections if anything happens to one of us. Helps eliminate questions of valuation, etc. for the family and puts people in charge of that piece of things who can move stuff efficiently and fairly for the family.

My collection .XLSX is updated and is stored in my Microsoft OneDrive which my wife has access to - I think I probably need to remind her that she has access to it.

Cigar Geeks for me. Very easy to use with a great app.

I frequent CCW every single day and really should upload my collection. I had everything uploaded there before we had the Big Crash.....

Google Sheet with a column got listing Brand Market Name, Vitola de galera, basic box info (25 slb, 50 slb, etc.), factory code, Date code, where purchased (LCdH Melia Cohiba, CoH, etc.) and a column that calculates age in years based on the date code.  Price info for most boxes too.  It's shared with the gf.  

I keep it up to date.  When I empty a box, I move that box's row to another sheet.  It's nice to have a record of what's been smoked.

Had used the original version of CCW until it didn't... Now that I am reminded I will re-enter the data. Like the added feature for Customs

This for me is where a Google sheets doc/excel work quite well. I have purchased many customs in the past year - each bundle gets its own line for each source, vitola, cost, cost per stick and date. I use ribbon for bundles for similar sticks to be stored near each other and write the key info on the ribbons w a sharpie as well. Other customs stay in an opened ziploc after they are stabilized and dried out. My logs also include a location column for a box/Coolidor number, which helps me Find things quickly. I also use those box numbers for the wifi rh/temp sensors so I can see current and historical rh/temp. AliExpress made the last part easy on Bluetooth- and I’m sure w a bit of hacking I could see things remotely as well.

Sounds familiar.  I keep a journal record of my full boxes only.  Once I open a box, it gets scratched from the journal.  I really only use it as a trading tool so I know which full boxes I have to trade.  I won't record a removal of a single cigar in order to keep my records up to date no matter what tools are available.  That kind of OCD seems to defeat the reason I'm having a cigar.

Excel sheet for everything I’ve purchased or full boxes I’ve been gifted. I can keep up with Sheets on the iPhone, and just check one off as I’m smoking it. Everything that has been given to me as a gift or in trades, fivers, etc, I have in my phone notes, along with the name/handle of whomever gave it to me. That way I can thank them in a forum whenever I smoke it. I will probably look into the CCW. Thought about doing it once, but the Excel/Sheets route has worked fine. My wife knows about the file, but doesn’t care. 😆 Usually rolls her eyes when I mention that she should know anything about my collection, and that’s okay. My cigar buddies know about the file, and they’ve been given instructions, in case the worst should happen.

I keep all in a google spreadsheet, and after the experience this week I can attest to how helpful it is being so far with moving things along and helping law enforcement/ insurance actions. Let’s see how this ends. 
 

also, keep all purchase dates, vendors, order date vs possession date as applicable and a number of other maybe stupid KPIs. 
 

that said, I had been delinquent in keeping things fully up to date which I now regret for obvious reasons.
