getkeyed
Been smoking these Marevas since a few days after delivery until now maybe 15 days and you could have told me it was a moderately aged PLPC and I wouldn't argue it. Thanks Rob & Hamlet for making smokes like these available after what's happened in the Cuban market.
Meklown
Don't know if it's just me but my first stick trying these made me so confused; usually the year on year change in blend introduced incremental changes in taste profile, but these are really very significantly different from the previous batch. On my second stick now and I'm getting my head round to the "new" n4 instead of basing my expectations on the previous version. Coffee and cookies dominate

This was a fundamental as opposed to an incremental change. Different tobacco, 4 + years of age, 3 fermentations, moving from 100% Nicaraguan to 80% Honduran, 20% Nicaraguan. You nailed it, "Coffee and cookies dominate".
Ford2112
Smoking this ROTT. Its in need of rest. Of course! But that said I got those cocoa and coffee notes right away. It's got a tinge of burnt sugar in there somewhere. I can't wait to see how these are after 30 days,90 days, etc. Great vitola. I'm excited. Thanks Prez! The Canonazo will be my next purchase.
Popular Post ManInBlack
Just finished my 1st smoke and thoroughly enjoyed it. I’ve these for about 30 days, maybe a few days short, but I couldn’t wait any longer. Construction - Colorado Maduro color, tight seams, light toothiness. Superb. Aroma: Chocolate and malts 1st Third: Great draw, touch of resistance. The brown edge of cookies is a brilliant description and spot on for me. A hint of coffee. Medium flavor and strength. 2nd Third: Chocolate, a yeasty buttery flavor and coffee. Delicious! It reminded me of a chocolate babka, a favorite dessert from my childhood. I got a touch of harshness but I’m fairly certain it was my fault from smoking too fast because it was so delicious. After a quick purge and a switch to sipping mode the harsh flavors dissipated. Builds from medium to medium/full in strength and body. Final third: Dark chocolate, toasted tobacco, malts and black coffee. Smoked to the nub which is rare for me. No harshness was a nice surprise given the age. Strength remained medium/full but tilted toward full for me. Overall: Completely over delivered for the price point. It reminded me of a Monte 4 meets a Trini Reyes. I was able to retrohale throughout and got nice spice notes that I didn’t pick up on the palate. Smoke output was generous. The cigar needed sipping, but that might be due to the age. The burn was very good, it needed one touch up, but it was breezy on my deck, so that may have been a factor. No complaints here. These are great afternoon cigars for me and can’t wait to find out how they age! I will definitely be buying more to lay down.
Ford2112
I smoked another of these this morning on a whim. Ok wow! I can see these won't last long. Total burnt sugar and coffee, earth and cocoa. Bomb! And these will get better!
Fireball
I haven’t tried one yet as I am letting them rest, but I already want to buy another pack of the PCs. Basically just out of excitement.
Popular Post Fireball
I have been eager to bust into these nudies since they arrived 51 days ago, but admit I have concerns that people overhype them because we all like Prez and Hamlet. I finally found a time when there will be zero interruptions, which is a rarity. So here we go. Cold draw- Graham cracker, almost a s’more. 1st third. Great draw, tons of smoke output- probably more than almost anything else I’ve had. There some medium/dark cocoa there, but with a touch of sweetness. I get the ‘brown edge of cookies’ comment I have read before. Perhaps ‘decadent’ is the proper adjective for me. Towards the 2nd third, there is another flavor slowly ramping in. I can’t put my finger on it, but it’s a slightly fuller flavor. Somewhere between toast and cedar taste, no longer as sweet- but rich in a slightly lighter way. As we hit the home stretch, the cedar flavors recede as it gently turns into pain au chocolat. At this point, it reminds me of motor sailing at sunset- when you have set the course and have auto pilot on. So much so I forgot to take any more pictures. It’s interesting, lots of monte 4 notes, but somewhat lighter. Unlike my monte 4’s, this has flawless construction and burn. There were a few puffs where I could tell it needs a little more rest time, but only a few. There is an odd bite with most NCs that I dislike (it may be some Esteli flavors 🤷♂️), but kudos to the team because they have avoided that entirely. Smoke time 48 min. I think in the future with rest it will easily squeeze out a few more points, but for now, 91/100.
Fireball
A quick follow up to my review above. I have been thinking about how much I enjoyed this cigar. I couldn’t remember how much it cost me so I looked it up again. I think at 7.68$ a stick it is THE best value for the money in the industry. After looking at how I rated things in the past, I updated my earlier rating to a 91.
Ford2112
Update . I've had a chance to smoke a few more of these. They've been resting a while. They are getting better. I had 1 that was plugged and I pulled a stem out with my perfect draw. I had one this morning with coffee, perfect construction and nubbed! These are great value PCs!!! Also they are good! Also they are good! Had a similar issue with one of my own. Pulled the stem but it changed the way the cigar tasted too dramatically, so I ended up pitching it. I think that was the first problem I've had with a nudie in about 30 cigars, so they're still hitting like 97%
WLC
I'm not the best at a review, I usually am in the camp of I like it or I don't. My order arrived yesterday. BTW, these are packaged very very well. These are also my first Nudies. I had to try one ROTT as my outdoor smoking season is coming to a rapid close, so the remaining cigars will have to sit until sometime in April or May when temps start back up for the spring. Cold aroma is all barnyard. Yumm. Draw is perfect, smoke production is really good. I get some grassy notes, a bit of coffee and chocolate and a touch of sweetness. I can't wait until spring. I've got a suspicion that they will be amazing after some rest. Best part of the whole cigar was the fact that I got absolutely NO pepper. So glad to see a NW cigar that has no pepper. It's a big turn off to me and a big reason why I like Cubans so much. Nice to see an affordable and tasty alternative to Cuban PC's. Will be buying more of these and trying out some of the others in the line. Well done!
Popular Post liger930
Rott has always been a guilty pleasure of mine. Having stepped away from the community for several years, the N4PC has been a wonderful surprise. Construction was some of the finest I've ever seen 10/10 -tight colorado wrapper w/consistent fill end to end, excellent cap, w/ spongy foot guessing somewhere between 67%-69% Aroma cold out the box 10/10 barnyard jumped out like a Miyagi Do crane kick to the nostrils.... Reminiscent of a PSP box of M2's from years past 1st third opens with spice, that burns off shortly after into sweet fruit that i was not quite able to place. draw was amazing, smoke volume generous like an Oprah giveaway. instantly reminded of the quest for the pure & genuine CC experience and journey to FOH back in the 2000s 2nd third transitions to coffee/dark chocolate or cookie/shortbread? still confused big time on the flavors with Honduran origin?... then boom PLPC ftw....yes from 2014. I wasn't able to nub it, if only I had more time god knows I would have. What great value for a $7 stick that delivers such joy and life fulfillment. Thank you FOH & Hamlet for reigniting my love for fine cigars

ViscountDick
New member here, just received my first nudie PC’s, I must say they smell divine out the packaging. They arrived expertly packed, can’t wait to try them in a few months time.
GVan
Smoked probably my 4th one last night at 70 degrees F. and 68% humidity outside. These have been resting, open at 62% Rh in my humi for 155 days. I was lazy and did not take any pictures but the cigar burned flawlessly and was incredibly smooth. I had just returned from a duck hunting trip where I'd brought and smoked several Monte 4's (AMO-Sept-16). For ¾'s of the cigar this Desnudo IV PC was a carbon-copy of the exact Monte 4 flavors I was getting on the trip. I was smoking it with a Nespresso Arpeggio Decaf with some creme and Splenda so that seemed to mask any sweetness from the cigar. The last one I smoked had just started with hints of sweetness. It was pure coffee and cookie dough with perhaps a very slight milk-chocolate. The flavors stayed consistent through ¾ of the cigar. In the last inch I picked up a little vegetable flavor and pitched it. These continue to evolve. The last one was smooth for only the first half of the cigar before I then had some darker flavors. This one stayed smooth till the last inch. Probably still acclimating fully to the 62% with a little extra moisture in the last inch accounting for the change in flavor. Did not get any PLPC out of this one - no mongrel and no Carmel sweetness but my guess is that too will come as these continue to mature. These are still not in my regular rotation - tasting one about every 30 days or so - but they are getting close!

Thanks for the review, matches my experience of them in the first few months but then they "went to sleep", all the sweetness disappeared, still waiting for it to come back. Interesting re the relative humidity as I'm wondering if that's also a factor with these. Back in the days when I had multiple boxes of Non-Cubans, I stored them in a separate "tupperdor" at 68-71%RH. Where the habanos are always stored around 63-66%. The N-Cs tended to taste harsh at 65RH - but they tasted better, even their wrappers looked better when pumped back up to almost 70%. Whereas the habanos tended to taste a bit wet, just didn't burn that well or release that cedary zing at 70RH. I've heard more knowledgeable cigarficionados than myself give some climate reasons for this relative to Nicaraguan tobacco in particular. So my guess would be that these Nudos are best stored at 67 or higher but haven't experimented so interested to hear what others think?

0don
ROTT: First cigar of the bundle, the draw seemed very tight initially but was actually not hard to smoke throughout. First third was very harsh and bitter from the get go, which had me a bit worried about the potential of this cigar. Thankfully, It got smoother as it went and the second third onward was quite pleasant. I know next to nothing in terms of naming flavours but comparing to a PLPC minus the twang feels about right (clear chocolate perceived). Great on the retrohale too. Definitely a bit above medium on the nicotine side, you'll feel it from the half way mark even as a daily cigar/pipe smoker. (Wouldn't give this to a first timer) I didn't record the time, but it's in the 40min+ range for me. With bundle savings, this stick cost me £5.30, which beats anything I can get in the UK and most of what my tobacconist in Brussels has to offer at that price. Put simply, it's the best £5-8 stick I've had (1st third not included) bar the H Upmann HC (8.4€). If the 1st third mellows out with the 30days rest then this will definitely be a regular in my humidor. After a lot of disappointments with CCs in quality control and stock, I'm glad to say you guys have done a very decent job with this one for guys with a modest budget. Might try the Fat Fundy and Lancero this weekend as well 👍 8/10
