Popular Post El Presidente
With the cigars starting to drop in the US and all international cigars posted, Hamlet and I thought it would be worthwhile putting together a video review of the Canonazo Amante VI 2023 for you to compare and smoke along with. Remember, they will be better in 30 days and far better in 18 months. However we know that most of you won't have the patience and will try at least one. Sip them slowly people. Keep that burn as cool as you can. These babies love to walk, not run. Post your smoking experiences on this thread Enjoy! 6

Popular Post Zaxeiler
Here's my ROTT review. TL;DR - WELL DONE, a smooth, balanced, delicious smoke. FOH Puro Desnudo/Nudies N6 (Cañonazo Amante VI 6 x 52, 2023, ~90 minutes, ROTT 6/15/23): Strong aroma of honey, clover/hay, and musty peanut comes off the bundle. Cold draw is plenty open, still hay forward, but adds a little crushed red pepper taste and tingle on the lips. Opening is remarkably smooth - primarily floral/hay, bread, and maybe a little roasted red pepper in the background. None of the sweetness from the aroma though. An inch in, it really continues to settle nicely - semi-sweet buttery biscuit, Liga-esque minerality. Almost entirely retrohaleable. Into the middle third, the honey notes are even brighter and a mild citrus zing shows in the retro. By the back third it’s a little more cream/mineral forward with honey/bread shifted to the background. Through the end, the core flavors floated in and out in different proportions. Minimal big transitions, but a truly enjoyable, smooth, flavorful and balanced smoke. As El Prez warned, a fast smoking pace can heat this cigar up transitioning flavors to ash. Love the shaggy/partially closed foot. Great construction, evenly firm and yet good draw. Beautiful wrapper with very fine tooth. Gorgeous white ash, can be a little flaky. Wavy yet even burn line. Good draw and smoke output. More stems than expected in the filler. Of note - hit a void in the back third that caused the cigar to go out and need relit three times (n=1). 28
SCgarman
They have a nice cold aroma off the feet. BTW, if you have any Upmann#2 dress boxes hanging around, these fit in there perfectly. At least 24 will. I imagine the Cohiba buyers may have some empty Siglo VI boxes hanging around. Surely they will fit in those also. 3

Popular Post clickbangdoh
I'm a horrible cigar reviewer, but will say my experience ROTT with one today was superb. Smoked well, no relights necessary, and the draw (which I was hesitant about due to the talk of wanting a "tighter" draw, i.e. something I literally have never asked for on anything but an underfilled cigar) was perfectly spot on. Kudos on not shipping them dripping wet. Flavors where good, and I think most people will enjoy these quite a bit. I leave someone with a more intelligent palate than mine describe the flavors, but suffice it to say I think we have a winner here.

Hamlet certainly insists on a firmly packed cigar. that doesn't mean they will be a tight draw. We only have 5 "pairs" which consist of a buncher and one roller whose sole role is applying the wrapper. Consistency should be pretty good. We will get better however. 99call
I'm seeing things that are not there? or is there a bit of candela coloured tobacco in the blend?
ha_banos
I did wonder about that picture! I've got severe impatience anxiety about my order! Hurry up postal services! I will not be taking the 30 days rest advice!
Popular Post SCgarman
I have my bundle stored inside an empty Upmann#2 dress box. I must say the aroma smells wonderful. Not barnyard like Cuban tobacco, but not the typical "spicy/pepper" that one would get from many non Cuban cigars. Very unique and intoxicating cold aroma. Can't wait to fire one up tonight with some rock and roll music and a caramel iced coffee in the garage (man cave).

Popular Post chinamike233
I've received my order in excellent condition! Smoked one with a couple of friends of mine and I'd like to say the following..... I've been on and off this forum the past 10 years or so. I don't post much but I love learning about cigars from everyone here. So I trust that these cigars were created with a lot of care, consideration and hard work. For me, buying cigars is a real treat that I don't get to do too often. So I want to thank Rob, Hamlet, and all those involved to make available to me such an amazing cigar at an even more amazing price point. I'm truly grateful for that. I'm not big on complex tasting review, but the draw was absolutely perfect and the flavour profile is where I like it to be which is on the lower end of medium. It was a cigar that for the 1.5 hrs I could sense the change in flavour profile from the beginning third to the last. I'm excited to see how they'll be as they continue to age. Again, thank you Rob and team for these and I hope to try the other releases! 7
Popular Post TheFullMontecristo
Received shipment yesterday just in time for the weekend. Just lit one up post lunch. Prelight - Firm construction yet a nice easy draw. Cold Aroma is that sweet honey and caramel as advertised. Toothy Wrapper and has some oily sheen. Tons of smoke in what is a perfect draw for my liking. Now that I've lit it i decide an Ale should pair well. Retrohale really is sensational. Bravo Team FOH. You all knocked it out of the park with this blend and should be proud of your creation. 👏 15

Oh, I'm pretty sure Hamlet has zero interest in recreating the inconsistency of Cuban production! 🤣 Had another last night and review still stands, excellent cigar! Popular Post Pantone151
It was 90 degrees here when they got delivered yesterday so I gave them a night in the humidor to cool off. Excellent work guys
Popular Post SCgarman
Anyone get flavor notes of salt on the finish akin to Sancho Panza? I did. And wow, second half of cigar flavors really ramp up big time. The finish between puffs was long, intense and strong on the palate. Nice blend, but far from mild/medium! Bordering on full bore in the last 1/2 to 1/3. Maybe a little sleep will tame them a bit. Great burn and fantastic draw BTW. Only the best rolled Habanos are close to that.

They will settle The last third should be solid rich medium to most palates but I have had more that a few that move to medium full. i love tasting a cigar ROTT. From experience this Cañonazo Amante really transforms with just a little time down. Like a Kentucky derby or Melbourne Cup thoroughbred, it will settle into stride before long. The flavours and pedigree are all there. Thanks for the review 👍👍👍
JBV cigars
Coño!!! This was very good! Will lay them to rest for a few months. But those flavors were outstanding. The construct was absolutely flawless. Bravo! 3
SCgarman
Rob/Hamlet, Please be sure to thank your team of rollers on behalf of all of us for a job well done. The cigars are firm, well bunched, and have an excellent draw and burn. As we all know what comes out of Havana, great/consistent construction is not a "guarantee" LOL.

I am catching up with Hamlet today and will pass on the feedback so far. He will be down at the fabrica with the team in a week or so and will take them all out for dinner. 2
mbrody
Best constructed and most pleasurable smoke I’ve had in some time. Rott. Immediately ordered another bundle. Could have told me it was Cuban tobacco and I would believe you, just much better rolled. Well done… 1
