Agree on Octopussy, but hard pass on Timothy. He's a good actor like you said but I always found his Bond portrayal to lack the necessary tact of the character. the interesting thing about Dalton was that, at least until Craig, he was always considered the Bond most like Flenming's character from the books. 2
helix Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 Who says he's dead ? There was no body. Easy out on that one.
BrightonCorgi Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 Bond could die every other movie and it would not diminish the franchise.

I do agree Connery 1, Craig 2. It got super schlock with Moonraker and Octopussy . They can never Replace Q or Money penny. *While I've always heard and read nothing but the most glowing reviews of Roger Moore as being a "lovely man" and cutesy stuff like, "Roger the Lodger" (from one of the stunt men), I can agree with all that. But I just don't like his film roles in The Saint and the James Bond movies. He's always either in some broad's mouth or in some broad's panties, and engaging in below the the belt fights. YOU guys can enjoy watching him, but I prefer (IF I was a Bond fan) Sean Connery in Goldfinger. That's all.
jazzboypro Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 Contrary to many on here, I'm glad we're done with Craig. There is nothing "Bondesque" about him as far as i'm concerned. Should not be that hard to replace him.

That's all. he has always been my least favourite bond, with hindsight to a degree as i did like Live and Let Die (and View to a Kill at the time), but every story you hear about the bloke speaks very highly of him. mate of mine was working as a journo in London when View to a Kill came out. went to the big launch lunch. was sitting next to a weird looking American. asked her what she did. grace jones. she saw no humour in this, was apparently under the impression that every person on the planet revered her and screamed for security. my mate was relocated to the back of the room and found himself next to Roger Moore and Patrick Macnee, who were great mates. they were at the back so moore could smoke cigars. they asked him what he'd done to end up in the naughty corner. he told them and they pissed themselves. apparently, they were not too fond of ms jones. my mate and moore became good friends. they lived very close to each other, though in very different levels of luxury. often caught up for a smoke and a drink. he could not have spoken more highly of moore. 1
