Do we think that one day we will be talking about cohiba like we talk about the joke that is Gurkha?

I always kinda did…🤐

Have had one that was unbanded. A nice stick. Not worth $300 but nice.

I had a 55th that was gifted to me a few days ago. I prefer the few Talisman I've had. Although I will say the 55th had an absolutely amazing aroma. Unfortunately it didn't translate into greatness. I'd be unhappy if I spent $50 let alone $300.

That's coming off the heels of a few PE I'd been putting off. Glad I smoked them. At best 92 points for a $110 cigar. I had a Connie 2 the next day that kicked its butt.

I'm hoping to pick up a few SdO this week in Cuba out the back door. Will report back.

I think the most I ever paid for a cigar was $50.00 US.  Remember buying two and while they were good they were not $50.00 US good.

Next special edition should be called the Cohiba Veblen Especial.

I guess I can at least give thanks that I got into serious collecting before the end of Cuban cigars. To have loved and lost is better…I’m told.

I did the same, and used the Talisman as a measuring stick… I’ve had about 7-10 Victoria’s (55 Ani) so far and they’ve all been amazing. I would say the the 17 Talisman were better than the 19 Talisman. All the Victorias have beaten every 19 Talisman, but also beaten some of the 17 Talisman. I’m very fortunate to have a solid stash of the 55s and I’ll plan to smoke them sparingly several times a year for the foreseeable future. Of the EL stuff released over the past 5-7 years… they’re up there. Like @Rhinoww I’ve also smoked the Exitoso and I liked it but I wasn’t wow’d. The Victoria is a wow smoke.

Smoking another unbanded one now @NSXCIGAR is spot on - the aroma is fantastic. Will be curious to see how these age. Soon it may be time to forget I have these for a few years. Very enjoyable smoke - but I’ll have to hit the lottery and run out of other things to buy before I’d pay the premium for the band.
But for those who smoke inside in say a high end cigar club - they will get noticed as the rich aroma will just hang in the still air like a perfume.
I had not focused on the aroma before as I smoke outside and tend to get some wind.

edit to add that both of these that I have smoked had a higher nicotine level for CC. I wasn’t going to make this comment but I gave one to a buddy (because I didn’t spend $300/stick) and he also commented on the nicotine along with it being his favorite of the batch of sticks I gave him.
