HuffnPuffff Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 Thank you for sharing the link. I need to sharpen my search skills on here. Because contrary to popular belief. I did search before posting. Guess I just suck at searching. My wife would agree … when she asks me to grab something from the pantry. I can never seem to find it! Same here. I suffer from fridge blindness. Can’t find a godamn thing I’m looking for in the fridge, except wine and beer. Normally what I’m looking for is right in front of me. I look to the left of it, the right of it, behind it … Back to the theme of the thread, I like to pair champagne, white wine and beer with cigars. I’ve also found the Aussie gin “Bloody Shiraz” by Four Pillar with a splash of soda water is a great drink with a cigar. Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Silverstix Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 Dr. Pepper, Coca Cola, Root Beer, Cream Soda all go very well with most CC's. I am not much of an alcohol drinker and I definitely don't like to drink Scotch, bourbon, etc. with a cigar, it overpowers the cigar for me 4
01Vert Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 Papas Pilar dark rum or a sparkling water depending on location and timing with any cigar. I find this works really well with a New World Flor de Las Antillas cigar 2
targa88 Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 Depends on the strength of the cigar. Generally speaking scotch ( non chill filtered, ABV 46% or stronger) Warmer summer months: occasional Irish mule (scotch filler with ginger beer). Sometimes tequila (smoother anejo: Herradura Selección Suprema, Cascahuin Extra Anejo) and to a lesser extent rum 2
Greenhorn2 Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 Some good moonshine( none of that crap in the package stores) if you can find it will really clean your palate, along with your memory. Bourbon with my Cohiba last night went well. 3 1

Connoisseur Kim Posted May 12, 2023 Posted May 12, 2023 For me, I drink Darjeeling and Earl Grey for light-medium CCs like LGC MdO 4 and stouts or single malt whisky for fuller CCs including Monte No. 1. I was surprised that teas worked really well with cigars too, since I thought the aroma teas could be overshadowed by cigars. 2

Least no one I know. I ran a batch around 12 years ago from some old heirloom corn my uncle had grown. Sprouted some to make the malt and used the rest in the mash. Turned out some of the cleanest and smoothest I've had in a long time. I still have about a quart left and is just a good if not better than the day I ran it. All this hybrid corn that is planted today has been so genetically modified that it will not make decent liquor if any at all. You have to find that old heirloom seed. That's why most people are making sugar head or rye. Rye seed is still fairly common around here, but I've never tried to run rye. Edited May 12, 2023 by Greenhorn2 2 1
