El Presidente Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 I caught up yesterday with a mate who is in the game and the conversation turned to CC quality over the past few years, particularly 22/21/20. I was asked when was the last time I had a plugged Cuban Robusto? I honestly couldn't recall. Let me ask the question of you. "when was the last time your had a plugged Cuban Robusto?" 2
riderpride Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 Easily 6-8 years ago if you include H4s. An ERDM CS of an unknown age. If just robustos, then I honestly don't recall. Cheers!
KCCubano Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 If just counting regular Robusto I can't recall. Now if including Petit Robusto that would be recent.Had to toss a couple MPEs that not even my Perfecdraw could rescue.
Bagman Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 Slightly cheating here. RyJ Exhibition #4. Almost the entire box. Been trying to smoke thru it this year. Ready to just give up.
LLC Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 Over the years I’ve gone through many boxes and I don’t recall any that were plugged. 1
Rhinoww Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 None that I had give up on. Just a few really that needed tending by the perfect draw.
Slayer Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 A 2022 Partagas D4 last weekend, was surprised too.
Jackdani7401 Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 RASS from a dress box, cabinets have all been fine. Just needed some perfect draw assistance then it was fine.
BlueRidgeFly Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 Only a few years experience with them, but I've never had a plugged Cuban robusto.
btp1979 Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 Is Perfect Draw a specific tool or a general term for a skinny poker/drill bit?

Google will get your answer but a poker invented by a dentist with a very effective well made sharp threading. A thoughtful useful tool. Worth the money. 7
GVan Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 Only one - HdM Epi-2 (REG DIC-18) so outside the bounds of your question. But, that's the only Robusto (or close to robusto size) I remember; after cutting it was plugged solid. Sent it back into the open cigar section of the Humi where the humidity is about 1% lower and just let it sit for a few years ay 63%. Picked it up probably about 8 months ago and with a little work from the perfect draw it smoked well with a very tight draw. I do remember that it was very tasty so worth the wait and effort to save it.
NSXCIGAR Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 I don't smoke any Robustos outside of an occasional JLS2 but I do get the occasional plugged Connie 1, <5% rate. Famosos, <1%. Very rare to get a plugged one.
Capn_Jackson Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 Some ‘21 D5’s, if we can count oddly-sized robustos.
Tdm_86 Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 Robustos, many years since I’ve had a plugged one. I would say easily 8+ years. Now, I don’t smoke a huge amount of Robustos, so take that for what you will.
karp Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 PSD4 from 2020 not that long ago... complete mess, but it's the only one in many years. Very rare!
Hammer Smokin' Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 two weeks ago during a fishing trip. It HURT. It was a Cohiba Robusto. But it was purchased before the pricing insanity, from 24:24, and it was a 2017 box date. It was plugged. Stupid thing was, it's now a $150 dollar stick. Plugged.
Silverstix Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 Not technically a robusto but I had an RyJ Ex 4 (2021) over the weekend that was overpacked and very snug draw
