El Presidente Posted April 3, 2023 Posted April 3, 2023 The poll question reflects an email I received overnight. I have had some recent poor tasting results with these and am questioning my biases. Help us out with your opinion.
NSXCIGAR Posted April 3, 2023 Posted April 3, 2023 Monte was the standout for that class. The other two were decent but the Monte I would put at very good. 3
KavalanWhisky Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Monte definitely. The Ramone has been hit and miss, I've had 1 good one out of 3.
Cigarsmoker81 Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 When they were first released monte was the standout cigar, but honestly the senadores came along really nicely since then and at this point I would choose it over the supremos 3
Tunkat92 Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Haven’t had the RA no 2 but haven’t heard much good about it either. The Supremos definitely stood out for me.
jakebarnes Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 I wanted to love the Senadores but only found myself whelmed. Kind of feel that is the EL ceiling for me though going back to the fireproof Monte D. My experience with the Supremos was better and think they have more potential. Have not had the RA, but learning EL just aren't for me.

Popular Post LizardGizmo Posted April 4, 2023 Popular Post Posted April 4, 2023 We just did all three on the podcast…kind of by accident until we realized we did two and decided to complete the trio. Supremos and Senadores were tied in the low 90s and the RA #2 was a complete surprise and scored very well in the higher 90s. One of the better cigars I’ve smoked this year. I think we got lucky with that box, as I’ve heard horror stories. None are worth the current price though. 5 1
JohnS Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 I was going to add much the same as @LizardGizmo. Honestly, I must have a good box also because the Ramon Allones Allones No.2 has been smoking really, really well for me of late...much better than when I initially acquired the cigars. 2
Hoepssa Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 RA2 were best when fresh, had one last week, they are not lucky enough IMO, Monte Supremos and Senadores are better. Senadores is my pick if it's 2027. 2
NSXCIGAR Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 I actually think the RA 2 was a bit better than I let on. It was actually better than good. But the Monte was very good. The RA 2 blend stuck me as like a very good regular production level quality. I would definitely buy that cigar in regular production and I wish the RA 3 had that blend. But the Monte was a step above where you would expect special production to be.
westg Posted April 12, 2023 Posted April 12, 2023 Just my 2 cents. If you have the supremos smoke them now ! Do not wait another another year or another 5. That blend will turn into powder. 2

So I wouldn't argue with smoke them sooner than later. 1

I will never age Monte especialy LE again ...for me the Monte blend just does not age. Monte 2 , petit Edmundo, Edmundo 4's .....18 months and they have melded perfectly so I smoke them. I do have some sleek silhouette Especial No 1 from 14 and 96 which are an exception . Unfortunatly even the tubos (long Corona) I have from 14 have flattened out considerably.
