Following on from the stunning results from "No one is going to know.......Really. Lighting a cigar the next day.  :D

Have you ever cut a cigar in half in order to have  two (or more) ......say......"bite sized"  cigars?   :lookaround:

There is no shame here ....no one will know :cigar:

Edward Sarhakian (sp) of London Davidoff fame is known for cutting in half longer format cigars.

At one time I had a box of Sept 2001 HdM Churchills. Needless to say quality control wasn’t so good back then and had a lot of plugged sticks. I would fondle it until I found the plugged region, then snip it on both sides, effectively making 2 petit robustos. Never had a problem with wrapper unravel as I whetted the end decently. It was uncanny how many were plugged mid length, very few plugged near the foot or head.

BTW, I still have 2 of those Churchills in my loose stick drawer. Hmmm 🤔

After a board meeting, I’ll snip an N1 Lancero in half and share with a friend who doesn’t have a cigar.

We usually only want 30-45 min smoke 💨- and works perfectly.

Is this a plea for a Hamlet minuto?

I have been doing it with N1 Lanceros and it works perfect for half an hour smoke with espresso during office break. Never tried with other cigars though 😌

Only to deal with an intractable plug. Sometimes you’ll get two halves that draw out of a whole that won’t.

I do it with Toscano's. The shape almost promotes it.

Yep, they should be the only ones. Better cigar that way IMO

I have had many "A" double pigtails rolled, some call it the end of the world cigar. An "A" shaped cigar with a pigtail at each end. The end with the true foot will unravel but not completely as the pigatil is holding it in place. A little bit of fruit pectin and you have two mini-"A's". It is called the end of the world cigar as in another forum years ago a question was posted: "If you had to select one bundle/box of 25 cigars for an end of the world scenario what would it be?" That was my answer. John

I can attest that Edward Sahakian most certainly does do this; I've watched him cut many down in half and it'll be usually laguito no.1/especiale format. If the boss can do it, so can I!

Although I never have, it further enforces-like what you like, do what you do, there's no right or wrong and who cares what anyone else thinks.

I'm trying to persuade the Perth guys to mortgage their houses and chip in for a box of Cohiba Esplendidos Gran Reserva. We would have to cut them in half for the cigars to go around.

No takers so far 🤪
