I was getting worried since we hadn't seen a new Montesco in over a year. Thank god.

Haha...indeed. As we say colloquially in English, 'sanity prevails', it's just a new type of 'sanity'!

I wonder how many leaves go into a montesco fat boi vs. a lancero?

Where's Hamlet...?

A typical Lancero should be 5 or 6 half leaves, depending on their size. A Wrapper, two binders, one or two Seco and one or two Volado.

Who knows on the Montesco. Maybe one wrapper, two binders, 1 Ligero, 2 or 3 Seco and the rest Volado. (maybe 3 or 4) You need all that Volado to keep it burning.

The important thing for HSA/Tabacuba is the Wrapper to Filler ratio. Wrapper leaf is very expensive. Filler is a fraction of the cost. So the more filler they can pack into each wrapper leaf the higher their profit margin will be. I know fat cigars are just the American's fault, but everybody seems to suck them up whenever they get released. And the Cubans are more than happy to keep pumping them out.
