El Presidente Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 What is your preference? it is a beautiful blue sky 21 C 70F day. You walk into a new cigar bar. Inside it is spacious and air conditioned. Deep leather lounges and all the accoutrements on hand. The outside patio is similarly comfortable. There are shaded areas and areas in the sunshine. You go to the walk in humidor, pick a cigar, order a drink. Where do you head?
Popular Post Nevrknow Posted March 9, 2023 Popular Post Posted March 9, 2023 That temp? Outside. Always. I save inside for when I need heat. 😁 7
Popular Post Monterey Posted March 9, 2023 Popular Post Posted March 9, 2023 I find the smoke from others in an inside setting to negatively impact my ability to enjoy the cigar. Outside always. 7
Islandboy Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 I think it’s safe to say you all know where I’m at on this, lol. 2
Nocoins Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 I always smoke outside, which means I miss a bunch of months loving where I do now. But when it’s over 55 or so, I have always found that I like the flavor of smoking tobacco better outside than in. 1
Popular Post Dr vonPuffenberg Posted March 9, 2023 Popular Post Posted March 9, 2023 For me, the deciding factor is the wind. I strongly prefer outdoor smoking but if the wind is too strong, I’ll head indoors. 19
Sir Diggamus Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 I definitely prefer smoking outside. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
jazzboypro Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 At 21 C I would go outside provided i can be under the sun and no wind. 2
Bill Hayes Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 Outside my preference. If too humid and the cigar is larger than 42 ring and hasn't been dry boxed then I'd probably smoke inside. I find I'm always having to relight in humid or rainy days and then have to smoke too fast and the flavours become bitter unfortunately. Probably why I enjoyed custom lanceros the most in Havana and not the wider ring gauges. Wind also plays a part for me, but not as much as humidity. Can usually find a spot with a wind barrier, even if the view isn't as great. Although, not much better than an outside view of the ocean where you can hear the waves breaking, insects and birds. Bloody heaven! 1
Chibearsv Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 Chicago weather means 5-6 months per year spent cooped up inside. If it's over 50F, I'll be outside! 2
david9985 Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 Outside gets the vote because of the ideal conditions specified... But, even when it's pleasantly warm it all depends on the wind. Which means in real life, more often than not my choice will be indoors.
jakebarnes Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 Patio. Enjoying the solace of nature ideally with a little sun on me. Similar to what @Chibearsv stated-- summer is meant for maximum outside time to make up for the grey and cold. 1
Puros Y Vino Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 Outside is my preference too. They do taste better out there. Indoors is a cold weather decision. We don't have that option in Canada (a few places excepted). Though I will admit, I do love smoking in the various lounges around Havana. There is a real old world ambiance to it. 2
Cigar Surgeon Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 It's always going to be an outside preference for me. 1
MrBirdman Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 I prefer outdoors but the wind needs to be very calm. 1
Popular Post ha_banos Posted March 9, 2023 Popular Post Posted March 9, 2023 Outside - ... so long as its not too windy, not too hot, not too cold, not going to get mugged, not going to get eaten alive, not going to get wet, not too noisy, not too dark, not too busy, not walking around, not going to be distrubed, then outside, yes. For sure. 3 3
Rhinoww Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 Outside. My covered porch - cigarden of Eden- never closes. Between a “Le smoking” set of insulated bib overalls and porch specific winter coat and heaters it is a rare day that I can’t enjoy a cigar on my porch. Bought my cigar buddy a pair of the insulated bibs as well so I can always find a buddy of I want company. very few indoor options here anyway. Fewer with good ventilation- and dare I say I am not a fan of the NC smoke. 3
targa88 Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 Outside = is predicated on wind. Given the current location the Foothills provide quite the wind build up especially in the afternoon. There have been some really nice cigar lounges that I have frequented (as alluded by @Puros Y Vino) that add to the experience with their atmosphere and service. Very few if any locations nearby... 1
stogieluver Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 @El Presidente, is the wind calm, or is it breezy? Calm, I’m outside; otherwise, inside. 1
