Popular Post Çnote Posted February 26, 2023 Popular Post Posted February 26, 2023 Greetings and Salutations FoH! I am pleased to announce that I am the Cigar & Humidor manager at the new Hearsay Arlington & Chambers Cigar Lounge. It is located in Choctaw Stadium (Globe Life Park). On the south side of the stadium there is a facade marked 'Sports Grill.' That is the entrance. Valet will be running soon; parking is a mess, I'm sorry. The grand opening is on March 3rd. We expect to have a small selection of cigars available that night and weekend, and our stock will grow to 200+ facings over the next few weeks. You may have noticed my last couple of posts on Daily Smoke. The smoking area is outside and overlooks the field from the XFL endzone. Yes, you can watch the game and smoke a cigar with a cocktail. The stadium also hosts MLS, rugby, & high school football. The decor inside is art deco, very Gastby-esque. The menu is fine dining with Southern and Cajun flair. The bar is fully stocked. Cigars are a key point for the concept. We will be stocking most major marques and many boutiques that are not easy obtainable, all at very fair prices, not steakhouse pricing. BYOC is ok with a purchase from the humidor, I can guarantee there will be something that catches your eye. If you need more pictures, check out hearsayarlington.com. There's also a ton of pictures & videos on LinkedIn, Hearsay Arlington. I hope to meet all of you local FoHer's soon! I'll be there at least 4 days a week, late lunch, happy hour, early dinner. If you're visiting downtown Dallas, Arlington is a quick 20 minute drive most of the time. It's also about the same from DFW airport if you just want to get off the plane and immediately come by for a steak, cocktail, and cigar. Feel free to post any questions you may have, thanks to @El Presidente for allowing this post! 22 1
Capn_Jackson Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 Wow. My wife was just telling me yesterday that she heard a cigar lounge was opening in the old Globe Life. I used to attend an average of fifteen Rangers games a year, between 2008 and the year they moved. I even helped re-write an old Merle Haggard song in tribute to former manager Ron Washington, which Merle re-recorded and I sang backup to him. It was played in the ballpark many times during the 2011 season, a season full of pride and pain for us Rangers fans. I miss the old Ballpark, and have been hoping that great things like this would open there. Any excuse to go back in and walk around that stadium. Loved it!! I have been to the new Globe Life, across the street, and it’s just not the same. I miss the old place. I look forward to visiting, and meeting you sometime! Congrats on the job! 1 2
Michael303 Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 Great place. Public settings like this seem so rare these days. Best of luck. 1
Popular Post JohnS Posted February 27, 2023 Popular Post Posted February 27, 2023 Congratulation @Çnote, I'm elated for you. What a pity I live on the other side of the world, otherwise I'd drop by the lounge to sit back and watch a Baseball game during summer. One day! 5 1

Cigars and baseball are a much better fit in my mind than cigars and footballx3, but sometimes you just have to accept that a job isn't perfect! 4
alloy Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 Wow! Quite a ride from Mesquite! Congrats and will have to plan a day trip to "the other side". 1
Chibearsv Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 Looks very nice. Congrats, hope to pop in some time. 1

Çnote Posted March 1, 2023 Author Posted March 1, 2023 As promised! For this weekend Friday from 2ish until 9ish Saturday 2ish until 8ish Sunday 1ish to 5ish - xfl game, beware of parking issues Maybe Subject to Change, but if I know you're coming I'll be there Bring cigars, I greatly doubt I'll have stock, so sorry! The humidor isn't 100% ready and seasoned right this very minute, so we are delaying until we are entirely sure 'the babies' will be soundly kept. Update: humidor was finished just in time to get an order for Friday! Bring some, buy one (please).
BrightonCorgi Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Looks pretty fancy and a lot of tasty menu items. How's your wine list?

It's not this. I'll make you a deal. Bring something nice and I'll figure out how to get it to your table. Unfortunately TX doesn't allow corkage and liquor sales in the same venue. 1
BrightonCorgi Posted March 2, 2023 Posted March 2, 2023 A deep Madeira selection would be something you should consider. The wine doesn't go bad and is a the best glass drink with cigars IMO. It's America's historical wine.

I would also add the pqr is insanely high and it's a touchstone to show that you're cooler than the somm down the street. But, meddling in the bar/wine program I see as the 3rd rail, given my position as most junior of management. I was allowed input and I requested chartreuse jaune; if that shows up I'll see what maderia I can request without opening a new vendor (welcome to TX). 1

Çnote Posted March 4, 2023 Author Posted March 4, 2023 A view of tonight's rugby game, coinciding with the grand opening. @JohnS totally thought of you and took this pic. 2
JohnS Posted March 4, 2023 Posted March 4, 2023 Indeed, that looks quite a picture to behold, @Çnote. It is said colloquially that Rugby Union is 'the game played in Heaven'. 👍 On the flipside, one must ask what the game played in Hell would be? 😂

gormag38 Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 Congrats on the new job! Looks like an awesome location....something I'd sure love here in Detroit. Slightly different weather I suppose. I'll be sure to stop in and throw you some business if I'm ever in that area. 1
