I don’t buy many boxes of NC’s, I enjoy picking up brand samplers or fivers. Saying that this was one of, if not the first box of cigars I bought in 2018 or 2019.

 

Went with a V cut to lower the chances of too loose a draw, paired with a Spanish beer.

 

Cold draw and aroma is all coco, draw is easy but not a wind tunnel, glad I went for the V.

 

A few years in the humidor seems to have dulled these a fair amount. Smoke and body are light, main flavour I’m getting is a creamy coffee, really smooth, find myself retrohaling most puffs.

Second half and it has transitioned into predominantly earthy flavours with a hint of sweetness on the retro. Body is now medium but still very smooth. The smoke output has picked up.

Excellent construction, I had to break the ash off around the halfway mark, if it wasn’t worried it was going to end up in my lap I think it would have smoked the entire way. The burn was wavey, generally corrected itself but I had to touch up a few times along the way. Smoke time was approximately 75 minutes.

Overall a good smoke, probably better suited to earlier in the day with a coffee. 7/10 would smoke again, would pick up more but probably wouldn’t stretch to another box.

Thanks for review, I've tried several Series V's, and most just seem to have a bland smoke taste. The Melanio V and the Melanio V Maduro were both duds for me.
