Just got this email....

Hello, CI Nation,

Thank you for being a valued Boveda Butler customer. We’d like to provide you a few quick updates:

  • • Boveda & Cigars International are proud to enjoy a close working relationship. Moving forward, you’ll see Cigars International assume control of the mobile app associated with the Boveda Butler.

    • If you own a Boveda Butler Sensor, it will continue to work with the app, however the app will now be the CI Smart Sensor.

    • The basic functionality will remain, but the look and feel will change slightly as it assumes Cigars International’s branding.

Why are we making this change? The Boveda Butler Sensor and associated App was created to help service all your cigar storage needs. The relationship with Cigars International allows us to further deliver on that promise as a carrier of all Boveda products and more.

As we welcome you into CI Nation, we wanted to get your contact information to make sure you’re the first to know about our latest promotions, expert tips on cigar storage, and top gear recommendations from our crack squad of certified cigar nerds. Click below to sign up for text notifications!

Thanks again and welcome to CI Nation!

I stopped using by Boveda butlers because the app was hot garbage but now its going to get pimped out by CI who will try and use it for data collection.

I think it just went from bad to worse to be honest.

Govee isn't perfect, but they work. They app can be a little frustrating with their dumb ads, but better than CI snoopin your data.

Butler was stopped selling and Services in Germany few years ago. Many quality Issues was told to me by Friends.

However, now I will use Aqara Sensors with the M2 Hub. Just ordered today.

I started using the Butlers a few years ago, but I quickly got sick of the app. The little rectangular Govees (no display on them) that connect to a wifi hub have been doing the trick for me, with far less bs and hassle. Plus I can check the temp of my cabinet and desktops while I’m away for work, in case my wife turns the heat up too high in the house! 😆

The CI app won’t save the butler, for me. I’m sure they’re working on a new proprietary device to replace it, but I’ll probably stick with Govee.

Yup agreed gents. Happy with my govee. The UI could be a bit better but overall not bad at all.

@El Presidente thoughts on making your own FOH hygrometer i'm sure @MoeFOH can build a better app than the garbage out there now.

There's good hardware in China so you don't need to manufacture it yourself, like the govee the issue is the software.

I would recommend adding a button so that if it's within the desired humidity range it's said by the angelic voice of @JohnS and if it isn't it's @Ken Gargett berating your incompetency hahah

I use the rectangles witha. few of the square guys thrown in there for coverage. Big fan of the wifi hub for sure. Found that to be really plug n play.
