Has anyone here been to Montreal recently and can you provide any insight to which lounges/cigar shops are worth a visit?

Thanks

Have for consumption weed lounges been introduced into Montreal or Canada yet?

Not sure. But there have been a few in Toronto that for the most part get "overlooked".  The one legal one I know of is an outdoor area one only.  Nothing inside that I know of.  If weed smokers do get indoor lounges and local cigar smokers don't complain, then we deserve to get screwed.

What's the Vegas line on both?  I think we can see how this one will play out and it's not in the cigar smokers' favour.

there are an estimated 4 million weed smokers in Canada.

I'm not sure what the cigar numbers are, but we can all agree it is just a small fraction of that number.

we have our first weed lounge opening in the end of April. It's right beside the magic mushroom store. But can't buy a cigar for under fifty bucks any more. Can get an ounce of weed for that price.

Thats a good deal for OZ! Have been to Canada on fishing trips many times and always hear how cheap it is up there. Here in Kansas City at the medical dispos it runs 300-400 an oz depending on THC levels. If its 25% or more its going to be pricey!

our ounces have all fallen under $100 (and some cases, well under).

but buying craft at 3.5g's still costs $10/gram.

either way, I sold a box of cigars for $650 bucks (mille fleurs) and picked up four ounces of quality (really quality) stuff.

likely going to roll my cigar stock over. much better value in green.

As a complement to previous threads, RibNReef & Chez Alexandre will let you bring your own sticks, Whiskey Café too with a cutting fee of 10cad if I remember.

Still dreaming about Queue de Cheval, best joint back in the days...

Whisky Cafe is a nice lounge. Their stock is very limited like everywhere else, but a great drink list and a good vibe. Avoid Stogies.

I remember when the whole restaurant you could smoke cigars in.  They had a cigar and port/whiskey cart they'd roll to the table after dinner.  Then it was just a glassed in bar.

I have no idea how this thread turned into a weed conversation. Thanks for the help.

The upstairs looking down while they cooked the steaks was really special.   We were a table of 8 all smoking cigars one time up there.

To piggyback on what was said above, Whisky Cafe is by far the best option. Very limited selection of sticks but you can bring your own and there's a "cutting fee" of 8 or 9 dollars. Stogies is like a strip club.... Awful vibe. I've never been to Rib n Reef but that's another place that people tend to go to. It is, however, insanely expensive. I'm also pretty sure you have to eat supper there and then you have access to the cigar room after supper.

In terms of cigar shops everything is pretty expensive. Vasco has a very good selection though.

Since this old post was somehow resuscitated, I'll add in another plug for Whisky Cafe. I've only been there once but have crazy good memories of eating my first-ever smoked meat sandwich down the street at "Mr. Smoked Meats" and then having my first ever RASS at Whisky Cafe afterwards. Would recommend.

Rib n Reef is the original Queue d'Cheval location.  The bar is sealed off with glass from the restaurant.  Lovely place to eat.  Had many epic indulgent meals there concluding with cigars!
