So I will be in Key West this Tuesday to Thursday.  More then likely Tuesday night I will on the Knight Pier from  7:30 to 11 doing night sky photography with an A and bottle of something.

But Wednesday night I would not mind heading out to a bar.  Any suggestions?

I would suggest schooners wharf. It's a great locals place although its difficult to stay away from the tourist crowds if theres a cruise ship in port. Go upstairs and watch the sunset while having a drink.

Really anywhere near key west bight or the galleon are fairly solid choices. Stay away from ab lobster house unless you really want to spend 100 bucks for a mediocre dinner.

Get yourself some Key Lime flavoured cigars!.... Rob still refuses to smoke the one I bought for him. :rotfl:

Yes.

Two places worth checking out:

- Blue Heaven.    One of my favorite bars of all time.   Open air but thick canopy over top….feels like you are inside.   Very cool.  Drinks and live music are good.  Apparently Hemingway used to hold boxing matches in the courtyard in his time.   My favorite time is after sunset with the ambient lights on.   Their scallops are fantastic.    They have an appetizer with them but will make a full plate if you ask (not on menu).   Most everything else food wise is good.  Key lime pie is the best on the island IMHO.   Highly recommend.

Louie’s Backyard.    Right on the water near southernmost point.    Great late afternoon and happy hour place.

Hemingway house is ok.    If you have time and like his stuff, might be worth a stop.    Lots of touristy stuff on Duval.   I generally avoid pamphlet stands and money traps.   Given the geography, it is not a great spot for beaches.   They are ok, but not quite as good as other parts of Florida so I’d set expectations before arrival.  Overall, it’s very walkable.

Enjoy your time.    I always have a good time when I visit!

Teasers? 😬

If teasers is ur thing....you'd be better off with Rick's - it's attached to the Red Garter

Open air drinks dancing and then a "quiet show" at the red garter. All within a 75ft radius.

Dunno, never been to Teasers. Just seemed like a fine suggestion at the time. I always seem to end up at Sloppy Joes…

Definitely agree on Blue Heaven. Awesome spot, my favorite restaurant in Key West as well.

I’m heading here in March and plan to check this place out as well, as I’ve never been. https://rodriguezcigarskeywest.com

Not going to lie, driving to Key West was torture!  Damn these people drive slow.

If anyone is down here I’ll be at Knights Pier in an hour.  I should be easy to spot, lol!
