Popular Post Tunkat92 Posted January 20, 2023 Popular Post Posted January 20, 2023 The one ring gauge to rule them all is the 50. For me its the happy medium of size and wrapper/filler ratio. It doesn’t feel skinny in the hands and usually provides a good draw. Once I saw this weekend review, I had to choose the Party D4. The flavor profile and construction rarely disappoints. Cold Draw/ Initial light: The cold draw was a good mix of barn yard and baking spices. Initial lighting was a blast of red pepper and grassy notes. 1/3: This D4 was the first of this box and the strongest D4 I’ve had in awhile. The first third showed its youth with lots of grassy notes, peppery retro, and some slight baking spice notes. It make me rethink busting this fresh box open 2/3: Thank god the second third of this stick tamed down. The grassy notes faded and the pepper tamed. The classic partagas DNA started to show with some cream and barnyard notes. The baking spice and paprika notes were definitely there too. 3/3: The last third really showed the party DNA and complexity. The youthful grassy notes were gone. The creamy notes came in and out, probably because I was smoking a little fast. I smoked until the nub went out and I felt satisfied. This box definitely needs some rest before revisiting. Which has been unusual for the rest of the 21/22 D4s I’ve had, but I feel this box will shine in 2-3 years. 12
williamthewolf Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 Thanks for the write up. What was the box code?
Tunkat92 Posted January 20, 2023 Author Posted January 20, 2023 I will post it later. I forgot what it was between grabbing cigar, lighting and writing review. 1
Vortigan Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 When The D4 is "on", it's still right up there as one of the main jewels in Cuba's crown! 2
