Popular Post generalnegroni Posted January 10, 2023 Popular Post Posted January 10, 2023 It is the best of times, it is the worst of times. Brexit, ‘Gloria in excelsis deo’ to the brexiteers, more often described in Anglo-Saxon by the younger generation, had the unhappy consequence of heightened interference by the enemy of all sworn Cigar smokers, HMRC. The H may have changed gender identity, somehow avoiding offending those same Tory MPs but the onslaught of diligent cross-border checks hangs lamentably over the UK tax-avoiding aficionado’s smoke-wreathed head. Compounding this paramount issue are record-eviscerating inflation, domestic strikes, foreign wars, natural disasters and, worst of all, the Cuban price rise of 2022. All is not, however, lost. Seized by Delphic prescience, the author stocked up a handful of meagre boxes at the start of the pandemic when prices were low, and the recent Cuban quality increase had already begun to be noticed across the forums, and indeed, the world. It is to these comforts that we now turn in these trying times. This Bolivar Corona Junior, minted in the Partagas factory from pure gold tobacco, proves the highest currency of pleasure available in a city where marijuana is often cheaper than tobacco. It is a tiny cigar. Barely larger than a super king cigarette. The McGregor of the Cubans. A dwarf among the more fashionable robustos and toros. Underestimate it at your peril. I love this cigar. I love it for its nicotine, which it wraps around me like a warm cloak in the cold winter. January may be dry, but London is never far from being wet. This is my first cigar of the year but I have enjoyed it infrequently throughout the year just ended. A v-cut reveals a perfect draw. Anyone who has visited Dublin will know the smell of the streets around the Guinness factory. This is the essence of this little Bolivar. Rich malt with a hint of Sandalwood and spice. I enjoy it to the end. 92 points. The best cigar is the one in your hand. 8 1
BenW Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 Great review! Got a box of MSU JUL 19 myself, every one so far has been stellar. 1
Chas.Alpha Posted January 12, 2023 Posted January 12, 2023 Excellent review! I made the rather serious mistake of purchasing a box of MSU 19 Boli PC’s. Then I bought 2 more. Then 2 boxes of MSU 19 P2’s and a box of CJ’s. After a box of MSU Boli RC’, something snapped in my brain and I started chasing the TUA Boli. There was magic in the air in the Ol’ Partagas factory then…😀 2
