The plan is to watch a great fireworks show in Provincetown early evening and go to a nice restaurant with friends. If the rain stops us we’ll stay home and eat well. I met my wife on new years eve and we always enjoy the aniversary.

You're on the Cape?  I bet there's great clothing sales going on in P-Town right now.

Too old to make it to midnight so firing up an 07 Corona extra to close out a crazy 2022.

Cheers!

New Year’s Day. Made the traditional pork and sauerkraut (I believe because pigs only walk forward, not backward) and some chili with beans. As long as nobody strikes a match in my house tonight we should all be safe.

Eating pig on New Year's Day represents good luck.
The sauerkraut means that in 2023 you will not run out of money.

During the day on NYE I am off to the horse races with mates to watch a 2yo colt we have a share in run its first race - city meet at Moonee Valley Race 1. It looks like a good chance too. If it wins we'll be celebrating into the night with pockets full of folding money like wannabe rock stars. Ha ha! Best break out the money clip. It's out of the mare Double Dee, so we named it after George's Dad's man bra invention in Seinfeld - Mansiere. Perfect choice for a bunch of middle aged men with man boobs! 😃

did he win?

Ha ha, funny you ask that. It's horse racing, and 2 yo. We said b4 the start that he had to not miss the start. Of course he did. He couldn't make up the ground but battled on for 4th. Found out later he had the curse of the 2yo's - shin sore from the hard track. Seeing as he wouldn't qualify for the Magic Millions to maybe become a stud stallion, they put him out to the paddock to strengthen up, recover, and about an hour ago they chopped off his foal making bits. Ha ha! Poor bugger with be moping about for a few months, ready to launch as a gelding and do what he was born to do - be a race horse. Go you good thing!
