Popular Post hrs1 Posted December 29, 2022 Popular Post Posted December 29, 2022 I've taken smoking notes for a number of cigars with the intention of posting reviews over the last few months. Unfortunately, my editorial staff went on strike citing gonzo working conditions and poor wages. Too broke to concede any ground and too time constrained to do it myself, why not experiment with a little AI to get one over the finish line? Step 1: Give ChatGPT an example review to get a feel for my style. Flattering. I'll give this a trial run. Step 2: Give it my smoking notes. Step 3: Tell it what to do. Step 4: Read. Quote It's been a long week, but I finally got to relax and enjoy a cigar tonight. I've been wanting to try out the Cohiba Secretos with box code TUA AGO 21 for a while now, and I'm glad I finally had the chance. The box had a sweet Cohiba smell, but my wife said it smelled like bear shit. I didn't agree, but I'm not exactly an expert in bear feces aroma. I used a punch to cut the cap and found the draw to be slightly tight. I lit the cigar and was immediately struck by the flavors. The usual Cohiba suspects - citrus, honey, cream, and grass - were all present, along with bits of chocolate and caramel. I was surprised by the salty notes on the finish. My wife took a puff and said it tasted like caramel, which was much better than it smelled. The body of the cigar was medium to medium-light and the smoke output was a bit light, which might have impacted the flavor. Despite this, I loved the cigar and wished the flavor was dialed up a notch or two. A few minutes later, the cigar really took off. The flavors became more complex, with chocolate and nut-dipped bread, a salty finish, and faint hints of honey and citrus on the retrohale. The smoke output thickened and the flavor and body increased to medium plus. The mouthfeel was brilliant. When the ash dropped halfway through the cigar, the bread flavor picked up in the mix, but everything else was still present. There were no major evolutions, just relative shifts in the flavor balance. Overall, this was an excellent cigar. I'd give it a score of 95 out of 100. If you're a fan of Cohiba cigars, be sure to give the Secretos with box code TUA AGO 21 a try. You won't be disappointed. Step 5: React. It's better than bear shit, but lacks a certain je ne sais quoi. At this point, I could edit it. But, this is what I hired the AI to do. Maybe I've saved some time and aggravation in the process? My verdict: Fun productivity tool, but not too concerned with it writing the next great novel, doing my kid's word problems or destroying civilization as we know it in the near future without a great deal of human intervention. Oh yeah, the cigar was really a 94 point cigar (ChatGPT and I were close in our assessments ). An impressive hour and ten minute smoke time. Second one from the box. Remarkably improved since I last smoked one in February. Definitely better than bear shit Excited to see how these develop. 6 2
