What was your best cigar experience of 2022? That cigar that you smoked during the year that you can still taste when you close your eyes. That cigar that reminds you why you love this hobby.

This was a year of CC exploration.  I not only explored a lot of CC's myself, but I got to share some CC's and expose some friends to them as well.  So, the cigars that I remember this year are ones that were part of these sharing experiences.  Not necessarily the best technical cigar experiences, but they were my most memorable. 

MC No. 4 - I shared one with a buddy who had never smoked a CC, and it "blew his mind" (his words, not mine).

HDM Hoyo de San Juan - shared three from same box with two buddies at Xmas party.  First time for them with this CC and, as I predicted, we all had identical encounters. I do love proving myself right.

Cohiba Robusto from 2007 was the star of the year for me.

This MTS OCT 21 P2 was the first thing that jumped to mind. I bought a 10er about 18 months ago and have watched the wrappers slowly become more and more oily and beautiful.  
I just opened the box on Xmas eve and was thinking about having another one, but alas put it back. Should’ve sprung for the 25er.

Tough one. On its own the standout for me 2018 Siglo V. The best and most consistent box... R&J Wide Churchill, which were just amazing. Everyone of them.

1999 Vegas Robania Familiares from JJ fox in London. I was goin through a rough patch at the time,  and was fully burnt out at the end of a 5 week european tour, but this cigar fully turned my day around.    it was a gorgeous, sunny day in London and I snagged 3 of these and had one at the bar directly across the street. Absolutely sublime.  🤌
 

I still have one left but think it’ll be some time before I can bring myself to smoke it. I kick myself every time I see it in the humidor for not buying the remainder of the box (there were like 8 left)  but that’s life!

RA 230 Private Stock. Simply amazing. The friend I was with didn’t bother speaking to me for the middle hour, as according to him, “I wasn’t in the room.”

Upmann 2 from a 24:24 1/4 box on a warm summer afternoon while cooking a bbq. So good I ordered another 1/4 box on the next 24:24 I caught them on, wish I stretched to the full box but I think this was at the time we all believed prices were a temporary high .

Smoked one today and came to say the same thing! Top five regular release cigar post-2000 IMO.

This LGC MDO4 from 2015 was phenomenal! Loaded with fruity flavors, my favorite in a cigar.

One thing 2022 was good for: great smokes.  But, an almost perfect RAG (ABO JUN 19) stood out from the rest

    Punch Punch at the local bar with a friend.   Total stop to all of the things going on during that time.   First draw on that had the best, smoothest smoke I have had.  It actually surprised me as it was so perfect.   Summer was over, the weather was still nice and I did not have a list of "things to do" a mile long in my head (rare at that point).    Cigar came from a recent trip to Davidoff London and the memory of walking London certainly helped

 

The company I am in, the location and what's going on in my head play a significant role in my enjoyment and that moment was pretty much a Zen moment for me.

An old Sir Winston, 06?,  I stuck in a tube and left in my humidor. May be my best cigar ever.
