Popular Post cigaraholic Posted December 25, 2022 Popular Post Posted December 25, 2022 Christmas Eve morning and I don’t have much to do, chopped a little kindling and stacked some firewood, my day is done. Time for a nice mid morning smoke, while I watch grown men play football in polar bear weather. For me these are usually dessert smokes with a nice Sauternes, but this morning I’m having adult apple juice, a friends homemade cider with it. Perfect smooth colorado wrapper, nicely filled....14.5g...but the foot is a little soft. Cold draw is more open than I want, but it’s full of spices. Opens under medium body with cedar, toasted tobacco and some sort of middle eastern pastry. The draw is very easy, not what I’d expect from a Churchill. It’s burning perfectly and some QdO graham cracker flavor comes in just before the end of 1/3. It’s more delicate than usual, but mercifully at the start of the second third the draw tightens. Up goes the body, flavor and intensity, now I’m smiling 🤗 In the first 1/3 the finish was rather dry, now it’s sweet and juicy.. The cider is paring nicely, it’s like adult recess, apple juice, graham crackers and a cigar. Last 1/3 is over medium body, heavier cedar, spices are still there and roasted pumpkin flavor. Not the best cigar from this box, but not a bad way to start the day. 14
KCCubano Posted December 25, 2022 Posted December 25, 2022 Nice review-I thought the MUR 13s were a very good run. Never a regular rotation cigar but a great change of pace.
El Presidente Posted December 25, 2022 Posted December 25, 2022 it is remarkable how much a draw can determine the enjoyment of a cigar. Glad to hear your draw corrected somewhat. QD Imperiales had a small but very loyal following. Deservedly so.
