BrightonCorgi
Non Cuban Partagas and Upmann both made top quality cigars; the former for several decades. Why hasn't this similar suit gone after all infringing trademarks? Partagas NC is hard to tell from the Cuban from box and bands sitting in a retail humidor. Similarly for Montecristo. At least that Cohiba is not trying to mimic our Cohiba outside of name and spirit.

Why hasn't this similar suit gone after all infringing trademarks? Those aren't really infringing. Those brands/manufacturers own US trademarks and Cuba owns trademarks (for the same brand) for everywhere else. Fun fact one of the NC companies used to own the Canadian trademark for Punch and you couldn't buy Cuban Punch cigars in Canada until recently. Edit: obviously with the US embargo in place there's no point for Cuba to fight a US only trademark.

Cohiba was created post-revolution. 2

I think after the revolution, embargo and the Cuban government's nationalization of the Cuban cigar industry. The former owners set up shop and/or sold their old brands to established NC producers. But that mainly was recognized in the US, as CCs continued to be sold everywhere else. I don't know the specifics of Punch in Canada. I only know that one of those big NC producers had the trademark for US and Canada for Punch. (I vaguely remember that they may have beat Cuba in registering or renewing the trademark). I meant when did Punch start being sold in Canada? I know they had not been for as long as I can remember. I usually bring a few Punch if going to Canada; just for the novelty. It might just be the stores using grey market suppliers due to crazy supply these days.
