Get some mucinex if you can. I dont think you need an ID for that. I was in a similar situation a few months ago and I thought my ear drums were going to break.

Ugh, my wife went through the same thing getting sick from the Las Vegas Airport. She bought Advil cold & sinus then bought Quercetin, NAC and Vitamin C vitamins and she was good the next day.

Good luck bro- Welcome to US winter. Now you know what I’m always bitching about.

Call Di. Order a light snack as it is close to 10:30PM

I read this part of your story like this i.e. a comma and not a full stop.

I thought Jesus! she's a saint,  I had images of her running through Brisbane airport with a t-bone steak in one of those organ transplant boxes

Amercian Airlines Hell and DFW.....brings back bad memories 🤮

We almost missed a connecting flight back to Denver from CDMX there because the guy at the security line for us rentry screening was asleep and got mad when my wife woke him up and just like, walked away. He then came back and started screaming at her. Great idea. Knowing my wife I became relaxed and just let her handle it. Worked wonders and apologies were granted by men in burgundy blazers with the right this way sir treatment straight to the gate.

Just grab someone outside the pharmacy, explain situation and flip them a $20 to buy you a pack.  Money well spent in my book.

Yea but also a federal crime. Kind of absurd to think so

Yeah, I'm in day 11 of this head cold.  I'm now down to blowing my nose 10 times a day instead of 10 times an hour, so I must be getting better.  This version is the grizzly bear of head colds.

As for travel, I love being in different places but absolutely despise the process of getting there (or not getting there as the case may be).

Should one get caught up in an elaborate sting operation to nab foreign criminals procuring forms of phederine on US soil?🤣  I hazzard to guess the federal prosecutor will drop the charges upon hearing the story.  Agreed, completely absurd

Because prosecutors, especially federal ones, are so well known for having a sense of humor and understanding.

Headcold hit 30 hours ago.  Apparently in the US (or maybe just the state of Florida) you can only purchase Pseudoephedrine from a pharmacy if you have a US ID.  Seriously? I have a fricken passport.

Home Miami - Dallas - Brisbane  in Premium economy.   Business class return was $30K (20K USD) and I wasn't up for an anal probe. Premium economy is fine.

American Airlines flight out of Miami is delayed 90 minutes as they screw around on the tarmac fixing an indicator light.  There is nothing more shitty than being on the plane but going nowhere. Okay, maybe plummeting from the sky in flames is worse but there is no need to pick holes in my day.

Landing into DFW and I knew it was game over. Actually, the pain while landing with a head cold is quite excruciating. The pain seeing your plane pull out of the gate is worse.

I have no idea where my luggage is.

Off to the Grand Hyatt. Book in. Bar. Call Di. Order a light snack as it is close to 10:30PM. Eat at the bar and enter into a conversation with the person next to me who seemed eager for some company. It came as a little bit of a surprise  to be hit upon. I told him I was engaged.

Call Qantas from the bar and let them sort out this CF. New flights today. DFW-LAX-Brisbane.

Economy only available.  20 hours.  FM   Head cold getting worse.

10 minutes ago, AA sends through a delayed flight notification.  FM. I am starting to question if they should be able to own a kids drone let along run an airline.

I am now off for a walk to the Pharmacy to see if I can bribe someone to give me 'the decent stuff".

Wish me luck. ;)

Have arrived home. All in all, 47 hours after leaving Miami. :spotlight:

I tip my hat to anyone who does longhaul in economy. You are one tough set of bastards....at least on Qantas. I have seen battery hens with more room.

They lost my luggage. Expected that due to the change but I had hoped that it would show up on the system as being somewhere.

I landed fairly ill. I wore a mask on the flight as I had bouts of sneezing and coughing. Can I tell you that sneezing and coughing in a packed economy cabin makes you zero friends.

At customs I filled out my missing baggage report.  Finally I cleared immigration and was free. I found the parking ticket in my carryon, my car keys, and paid at the pay station. I went in search of my car.

10 minutes later it dawned on me that I left and was meant to return at the domestic airport.  My changes meant that I was in the international airport.

Walking back to catch the inter terminal bus felt like one of the longest walks that I have done.

There is nothing like home

I'm glad that Di is waiting to spend Sunday with you Rob. Wow, what a calamity of events! Let us all know when the luggage is found!

By the way, because we have to know, don't tell me that Rob Fox had the exact opposite situation happen to him. That is, he was a picture of perfect health for four days and his flight ran smoothly on the way back to the UK?
