Side question to the poll.

Which are the fullest bodied NC cigars that are not  pepper bombs?

Full bodied, rich, no pepper.

I don't believe I have found one so far and would love to bring some back while in the US next week.

Thank in advance

A few folk have already said Padron 1926 and I couldn't agree more - a phenomenal cigar. Davidoff Signature, Davidoff Royal Release and Davidoff Yamasa come to mind as other alternatives. I'd als

In general, you can find full flavored (high quality) NCs fro the higher-end Arturo Fuente (e.g., Don Carlos), Davidoff, Padron, Tatuaje, Illuision, and Dunbarton, for example. In general, I find many

I do not smoke many of them, but I would say the Liga Privada No. 9 is full bodied and not a pepper bomb.

I would also suggest the Joya de Nic. Antano Connecticut. I do smoke these regularly and find them to be full bodied without being a pepper bomb.  I would also say that this is probably a cigar that many would not suspect to be full bodied due to the lighter wrapper.

Lastly, I would recommend some of the original HR signature toros... not the newer ones that he has recently released. the originals, if you can find them.

Alec Bradley Prensado, haven’t had one in a while, might be some pepper in there…can’t really remember

Had a couple of the Corona Gorda this year whilst dipping my toe into NC's. Very Impressed, best description I can give is the NC version of a BBF.

So far the most enjoyable NC I've had.

In general, I find many NC maduro cigars have a strong tannic leather flavor profile similar to chewing on a leather shoelace, and they need several years aging. My experience with the Nudies has led me on a deep dive of NC long skinnies and I’ve sampled almost all that I can find: My Father cigars have two lanceros — MF #4 and my favorite, “La Promesa” Lancero. I found that other vitolas of MF “La Promesa” not to be as pleasing. Other favorites in the lancero line are the Southern Draw “Rose of Sharon” lancero and the “Desert Rose” lancero [same comment about vitolas], and the Southern Draw “Jacob’s Ladder” (a Maduro lancero that apparently has some aging or maybe it’s the blend — I dunno, but it is excellent.

LFD and Roma Neanderthals are a good suggestion. Roma Craft in general weren’t terribly peppery and they had some mid-full bodied blends.

LFD Litto Gomez is one of the strongest full flavored cigars I can remember where pepper wasn’t the primary player. LFD generally is known for strength and full body without much pepper

Padilla also had some full bodied, not overly peppery blends around,

I haven’t had any of those cigars in well over 5 years either, but those jump out.

Another vote for high end Arturo Funtes -- and in particular, for the AF OpusX Shark, which when aged exactly fits the profile you were seeking IMO.  Of course, those can be difficult to find.

However, there is an easier way to obtain them -- and to support a good cause:  The annual, "Taste Across America" boxes, which contain an AF Opus Shark as well as the Diamond Crown Julius Caesar Shark (which, while tasty is much more linear than the AF in my opinion).  It's also reasonably priced @ $50 for the box of two -- all of which is supposed to go to charity -- and it's often available from the "family" store in Tampa.  …And sometimes you can find past years’ TAA boxes, so can sample differences in age.

From the same source, you may also be able to find other remarkable AF cigars, especially as part of sampler sets.  The Rare Pinks are wonderful ROTT, in my opinion, just like the aforementioned Angel's Shares.  ...And if you see a set of already aged Don Arturo Destino al Siglos, then you'll have found what I believe are some of the absolute best NC's available.

Padron 1926

Padron 1964

Placenscia Alma Fuerte (at least for the majority of it--I find it can be peppery/muddled in the end, but that holds off for a while)

Fuente Anejo line

Caldwell The last Tsar

Ligadors know how to do it from aged Nicaraguan tobacco. It crumbles when cut, so I assume that this is a temperature fermentation technology analogous to the Cuban Maduro. Of the last cigars smoked, I was most impressed by El Viejo Continente Pitagoras. No pepper. Cedar, sweet dried fruits with astringent aftertaste. At the background is a game of oriental spices, chocolate and coffee tones. In general, a rather rounded taste from which dried fruits clearly stick out.
The cigar is well balanced, strength and body from medium to medium-high. I think a double intense puffs will give a full body.
Available at US stores.
