Cause that’s what it would take I reckon. The story of how I acquired these images is quite something else. These images have been uploaded with the permission of the current owner and El Pres, who agreed to include them here for our education. You see, cigars like these are so often faked that seeing a legitimate box is of great benefit to cigar enthusiasts such as ourselves. Therefore, the images have been watermarked to prevent their use other than for educational purposes. The owner was gifted these from the Rothmans factory in Auburn, Sydney in February 1991 (Rothmans owned Dunhill in the 1980s when these were still in production). He was advised to store them in a dry, dark place which he did for over thirty years. Kudos to him, despite being a long-time cigarette smoker he didn't want to break the box in that time. The smell of these was simply sublime. It was akin to a beautiful musty and floral bouquet smell that is normal for a cigar of this age. All the bands were loose, which again is normal as cigar will lose some moisture over time. This last point is pertinent as who would go to that detail to fake them? Hard to do, in my opinion. Yes, they're real and I am grateful to having spent some time with the owner this week to inspect them. He's a lovely, humble chap and I wish him the absolute very best in regards to this wonderful box. 8 2 5
Chas.Alpha Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 Nope. Totally fake. I'm PM'ing my mailing address for personal verification. Still can't play Blackbird... 1
Edicion Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 Thanks so much for sharing and congrats on taking care of these. Big question is what is the current owners plan for them? I am just throwing it out there, but I would be willing to trade them for a pack of cigarettes if the owner is, since he doesn't smoke cigars he might enjoy a pack of smokes instead. Seems like a bit of waste of these otherwise, doesn't it? 2 1
Chibearsv Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 Beautiful cigar. That wrapper is drool worthy. 1
Connoisseur Kim Posted December 4, 2022 Posted December 4, 2022 Dat wonderful vintage Dunhill CC churchill box indeed, @JohnS 👍! Wish I have vintage CCs like this Dunhill Estupendos in my stash too since I'm a huge fan of long and skinny CCs 🙂. 1

alloy Posted December 4, 2022 Posted December 4, 2022 John, why tempt us this way? 😷 I have a box of Talisman I haven't touched since receiving them from El Pres back in 2017. Now I guess I'll have to keep them for my son in law. 🤣 1
MrBirdman Posted December 4, 2022 Posted December 4, 2022 Dunhill Estupendos in a Tube. Would love to see a review (even secondhand) from the owner to hear how they're smoking. 1

With them being over £1k I did not expect to be temped...but I really was. The aroma was magnificent, something you only get with high end tubos. All the condensed, saturated oils that have all converted into a powerful stench of flowers, gingerbread, old oak, an old dank barnyard manure. Quite reminiscent of Grandes De Espana, but meatier and with a bit of dusty cocoa. Very hard to let go, but sadly I did. Whomever get their hands on the real deal, be prepared to feel a little bit like Frodo with the golden ring. 1 5
