I miss F1 refueling during the race, pit girls, and tobacco advertising.

Towards the end of the tobacco era, sponsors were so clever and cheeky to promote their brand without saying it direct.

I totally agree with the first two, but I wish they would get rid of ALL advertising, not just tobacco. Im not watching F1, Football, fill in the blank, for the ads.

Cable TV as we know it is essentially dead. Like Landline telephones, its really the 65+ crowd that's keeping them hanging by a thread.

I am going to miss 'getting lost'.

We had a hilarious "getting lost" experience when visiting Calgary, Alberta.

It appears there are more than one set of numbered streets (1st street, 2nd street etc) with the same numbers in the city--don't know if GPS has sorted it out but when we were there a few years back the GPS was as confused as we were.

What I miss is seeing lots of beautiful women--everywhere and anywhere...where did they all go?

I'm not sure if this is something I'm going to miss, per se. But I do often wonder what professional life would have been like prior to smartphones. I started my career after the iPhone was widely adopted, so I didn't get to live in this era. However, in the event I get on an airplane and the WiFi isn't working, it's such a great feeling. Just several hours of uninterrupted, unconnected down time without any of the guilt that I'm somehow slacking off. Makes me think that the pre-smart phone, pre-cell phone era must have been amazing!

I've been trying to book a 3 or 4 day camping trip to Dry Tortugas with this being one of the reasons.  70 miles west of Key West and outside the range of any communications with the modern world.  Would be nice for a few days.

Oh yeah ... sorry about that. Hope you had a great visit!  What's even more fun is when the street splits and then starts up again but you'd have to be on the other side of an obstacle / building to do it.

Kids looking for work like summer jobs, mowing, shoveling snow. When’s the last time a kid knocked on your door and offered to shovel your sidewalk or mow the lawn? It’s a shame. The satisfaction that comes from getting paid is lost on too many young people.

oh they like getting paid...but they get paid by playing video games (twitch) or influencing.

The idea that they have to get dirty to make "20 bucks" is laughable.

I can't say I blame them. My nephew, who is 12, just bought his parents a new car (paid cash, seriously) from his twitch money.

There's an ice cream shop near my parents' house where they had to drastically cut their hours due to not getting anyone to work over the summer.  They were paying $25 an hour plus tips.  The tips alone are $20 an hour.

I'm not even much of a movie buff, but I miss the variety and type of movies that used to get made.

you mean you don't like every released movie to be a super hero movie or a rehashed movie from the past?

CGI has ruined films.

(not the use of it, but all the money towards it was taken from the writers)

I miss Arcades.  Gaming hardware is incredibly powerful and playing over the Internet just gets better.  As a University student, it was a hoot to go to the nearby arcades and blow off some steam playing MK2 or Virtua Racing, etc.

And not so much a product of our time, but a product of aging, is that I miss playing team sports.  While I can still cycle, lift weights, tennis etc.  My body can't handle playing road/ice hockey, soccer or even softball any longer.  😔  The last team sport I played and probably can still do so without maiming myself, is volleyball.  The Pandemic put a halt to that though.
