Spaceman Spiff Posted November 23, 2022 Posted November 23, 2022 I love seeing these old boxes, but on the other hand it leaves me with so many questions.... Just what kind of a cigar was this El Rico Habano? Was it full bodied, medium or light? Did it have coffee/chocolate notes like a Montecristo or was it spicy rosewater like a R&J? I'm sure many of them were probably just really nice smokes, maybe just without the character specific notes of some of the current marcas we love, but I can't help but think that maybe a handful of these brands were truly incredible blends that were just sadly lost to time.... If anyone has a Time Machine handy, let me know! 😎
anacostiakat Posted November 24, 2022 Posted November 24, 2022 This is interesting. I remember the El Rico Habano cigars made by Cigars International. To me they had a banana flavor type profile. 1
Cairo Posted November 24, 2022 Posted November 24, 2022 I still have a couple of boxes of the NC version of these from the early 2000s. My joke is that these cigars are "newbie proof". That is because they are very strong and are usually released to market long before they are ready to smoke. Most newbies take one puff of one and vow never to try them again....but with a few years down they become ok and at the ten year plus range they become one of my favorite NCs. They have their own unique profile.
