I'm getting tired of my Zino guillotine (possibly getting less sharp), and thinking of investing in a good tabletop cutter for home.

What do people like? I've witnessed the Colibri Quasar and it seems pretty great, but at $150 pretty steep..................

I have the Quasar set. 100% would buy again. Check Amazon, picked up mine on sale a year ago for less than $100.

Just read the Halfwheel review - do you have an issue with not being able to see how deep the cut will be in the straight cutter?

To be fair I use the v-cut almost every time, but I haven’t had a noticeable issue with the straight cut. Great thing about Amazon is if you don’t like it, it’s super easy to send it back. But I have a feeling you’re going to love it.

How about a good pair of cigar scissors?

This. Scissors are so underrated. I have some I bought many years ago and I still love using them.

The scissors seem more akin to what I have now... was hoping for something less fiddly and more foolproof. (I have terrible close vision too.)

Please do. I’ve been curious about the quality of all those similar table top cutters on Amazon.

995 people gave it 5 stars so it can't be any worse than that shitty Oliva double cutter I bought for 35 bucks at my B&M.

I have one. Solid cutter. I’m not sure how long it will stay sharp, but I’ve had it a year and works perfectly.

I’m curious how that goes. My Palio table top fell apart after just a few years, sad.

I've been to a few shops that have these style cutters and I've seen them go for cheaper than the $63 on a certain 'bid' website. The shops that I've seen them in where they'll cut the cigar for you (namely in tourist areas) have all given me a clean cut and when I handled one of the units at a lounge in Pigeon Forge, TN it was quite heavy and seemed like a quality unit.

I have had mine years, blade goes rusty, its not stainless steel.  When you strip it down you see its just a home made blade re-manufactured from a super wide Stanley style blade.

I have re-sharpened mine a couple of times, will find a replacement upgraded blade one day and it will be perfect.  the thing is worth the money, i love it.

Side note, if you use the right hand side holes, with your left hand, keep your eye on the fingers your not using!!!!
