I guess this flew under the radar but I see these premium lines expanding to Hoyo and HU at some point. And I see the prices matching the current Monte 1935 and RyJ LdO prices, so outrageously high.

The major event of the next Festival del Habano will be the launch of a premium line under the Partagás brand. Named Línea Maestra – and subject to the new policy of “world prices” decided last spring by Habanos S.A. in the same way as the Línea de Oro de Romeo y Julieta -, it will be composed of three cigars:
Domines (154 mm x 46)
Eminences (168 mm x 52)
Expertos (132 mm x 56).

They’re going to say that these new lines are so popular they’ll have to cut back on non-premium lines of the marca until all that’s left is triple banded mediocrity in a glossy box.

With all of these new premium habanos brands, is the tobacco being used in these being diverted away from what used to be premium cigars of the same macras? I.e. is the quality of the regular production higher end cigars being diluted by all of these releases? @El Presidente any insights?

Sad to see this. Routing what little leaf they have to a new premium line will just dilute the amount of regular releases that we see. As if Lusis and 8-9-8 are just gathering dust somewhere.

I don't know but I will say the RyJ LdO tastes like a different brand to me. I would never have guessed any RyJ leaf was in them. Monte 1935 definitely tastes like Monte but they don't seem to have any shortage of Monte leaf to crank out endless No. 2, Edmundos and PE.

Anyway, they ostensibly have a surplus of leaf right now as production bottlenecks are chiefly labor related. I guess if they're going to roll anything roll super premiums. Although they could ease up on the RyJ and HU tubos...just saying.

return of the bolivar gold medal!

i'm sure it will be affordable!

I'm surprised @ATGroom lists these as being in DB 10s. These seem more fitted to the JL SE and LGC Glorias format particularly seeing as how they already have the Libertadores LCDH in SBN 10s. Is that 100% confirmed Alex?

If they are in DB 10s they actually do have a fair chance of being affordable.

Or maybe these premium lines are designed to have the Behike effect of turning the entire marca premium, so they can start charging us Siglo I prices for party shorts

I’ve been expecting and dreading this. My favourite marca, which is already excellent, being messed about. I’m only using the word ‘messed’ to comply with forum rules.

Soon everything will be “super premium” with fancy boxes and extra bands with absurd prices. Not a great future for habanos lovers who love a good classic Cuban cigar at reasonable prices.

Well, we are in the golden age of cannabis in Canada. Prices cheaper than ever. Quality better than ever. Just pivoting my purchases from one consumable to another. Just repurposed one of my two desktop singles humidor to a budidor.
