yes gentlemen....you have strayed into US politics. :cofcig:

Let's agree that all politicians are whiny little bitches and move on.

The fact that there are that many people who will gladly swallow the koolaide is testament to how far this planets population could be thinned.

Back to it then.

Bolsonaros supporters are setting fires and blocking roads. They think creating this chaos will make the military intervene... I don't understand this logic.

I don't want to get too political here, but to be fair I have to remind you there is a long history of Democrats claiming that elections were "rigged" or that the Republicans "cheated".   The 2000 and 2004 Presidential elections are two examples.   There was also the 2016 Georgia governor's race--I believe the Democrat candidate never conceded and claimed she had been robbed.     Then there is the 2016 Presidential election--something about "Russian tampering".

My only point is that claims about rigged elections are made by both sides--and deserve to be fairly heard--by both sides.

None of those instances involved people complaining for months beforehand - with zero evidence - that the election would be rigged and the only way they could lose is if it was.

It's no coincidence we're seeing this Bolsonaro take this tack - it worked in the US.

I do not want to argue with you about evidence there is or was--but your statement is controversial and not self-evident--I will leave it at that.

You and I fail to understand because there is no logic behind it, only chaos.

Ken, have you replanted your pineapple? That is a small step I know but one that is symbolically important to many of us who are trying to save the planet  :ok:

i have and it is a lovely shining golden yellow. unfortunately, that is the leaves and there seems little chance of any fruit reappearing this time.

i am planning on planting the durian seeds. i have warned my neighbour to expect a fifty metre tree which will be producing around 250 large and very spiky fruits annually. i have also warned them that they will need to be careful as apparently durian trees attract orangutans. i am concerned that my neighbour is not taking my warnings seriously, though he did not look happy at the idea of a fifty metre tree.

@Elpresidente I desperately wanted to take this to strike three, but being thrown off of FOH once would only match 30% of the times I was permanently banned from Twitter!!!

Hoping to get those accounts restored... 😁

I did a click bait today about somebody that planted a "Guava Guava" plant here in the US. Apparently it is the most miserable thing on the planet, even to brush against it is so painful that it makes you pray for death. Country of origin?...

I'd be honored to meet you Ken, but it's going to have to be on my turf.

I was paving the way for ya. I've never made a Twitter account, thank goodness.

Bolsonaros finally admitted defeat! It's over.

In the past there is recorded TV interviews where he says he hates homosexuals, that women should stay in home and take care of the family, that if he had a homosexual son he would beat him until he turns straight and a lot of other absurds.

Typical bumper sticker seen on many cars.  Wife took this one on her way to work. Her family is from Minas.

Minas is widely well known in Brazil because they have the best food in the country. It's also the most divided state in Brazil when it comes to politics. They have literally 50% of right wing electors and 50% of left wing. Also great people, I usually go to Uberlandia from time to time because of work and love it.

If Lula's last spell in office is anything to go by' deforestation should fall off a cliff. But I agree the problem is far wider than just ceasing logging. But thank God that maniac is out of office.  The should re-employ the loggers, retrain them within the conservation and reforestation process. Pay them well, and hopefully have a lifelong impact on there beliefs/outlooks.

??? I'm saying Lula's deforestation activity in his last term was very low. And Bolsonaros was off the scale. To clarify I'm suggesting Lula's hands back on the wheel should be positive for the Amazon.  In terms of involving loggers in reforestation its the only intelligent path forward. Much like the killing of Elephants and Rhino. Pay the poachers to turn protector.   People just want well paid jobs. Conservation of the Amazon can provide that
