Cohiba cedar sheet Taino head embossing.

When the FOh tribe get a chance :cigar:

Can you check your 2019-22 Cohiba to see if the taino head on your cedar sheet is embossed? Run your fingers over it and see if it is raised.

If so post in the affirmative on this thread.  Cigar/Box code/ etal.

I recognize that pic

:hungry:

I'll check all my boxes tomorrow but I'm up late and just found an embossed cedar sheet in my box of RAT NOV 21 Piramides Extra.

Alex, we inspected the box of new esplendidos today (April 22 from memory) and it had none of the anomalies on your box. It was a different box code however.

I also came across an email on raised embossing on a questionable box purchased EU.

Just seeing if there is one legit box with an embossed Taino in order to rule it out as a "marker".

Don't you mean debossed? That looks to be burned in.

Yep.  Didn't know that was a term.

Cedar sheet is ‘debossed’ (burned in) on this ‘19’ box. Purchased from FOH.

I have 2 boxes both from different vendors and both have debossed (burnt in) cedar sheets. Both are on my two boxes of Piramides MTS NOV 21 and TUA OCT 20. All other boxes are flat on cedar sheets. Although a box of 2014 Siglo I I have is debossed as well. I know we are only talking about 2019-22. Just thought I would throw that out there.

I'm going to go full-on ignorant as I have only ever had 2 boxes of Cohiba in my life, but they are using a printing PRESS to stamp the cedar sheets. I wouldn't be at all surprised if some of them were embossed and others were applied with less pressure...

Box of UAO JUL 19 Sig I is ‘stamped’. These are easily the best Siglo I I’ve ever had and is definitely legit. With that said it also looks far more sloppy than my other  cedar sheets in my Cohiba cabs. All others are not stamped, but printed.

Just for the record - is it supposed to be embossed, flush, or debossed? I know Cuba = Cuba but what is the standard we're comparing it against?

It appears legit boxes should be debossed, however we're trying to figure out if there is any legit box that is embossed in order to include embossing as Cuba being Cuba. So far it's not looking good for embossing being legit.

If they're being printed or stamped (debossed) it shouldn't result in a raised head under any circumstances. If anything the press would slightly depress the head. Embossing causes the image to "stand out in relief" or be raised.
