Romeo y Julieta Linea de Oro Hidalgo MIS MAY 21 (RyJRW)

This is my first RyJ Linea de Oro Hidalgo, purchased on the 24:24. 
 

First, this cigar is perfectly constructed. The cold draw revealed an ideal draw, not too snug and not loose either. The size reminded me of a slightly bigger H Upmann Magnum 54. I am a fan of all sizes of cigars depending on the situation. This was perfect as I was at a cigar lounge watching football with friends. 

Upon lighting it I’m excited about the smoke production and it’s a cool, comforting smoke. That said, there was quite an “edge” to it, like this could probably use some more time down. As the first 1/3 moved on, I’m happy to share some of the edge eased off. I’m not great with flavors like others on FOH but all I can tell you as I felt like I feel when I eat comfort food. It tasted almost like it was chewy. This is definitely different than the typical RyJ. 

 

The second 1/3 was my favorite. Edge came off and cool, comforting smoke continued to pour out of this wonderful Hidalgo!

 

The final 1/3 brought some of the edge back and got a little hot faster than I expected. I can tell if I’m patient this will be a magnificent cigar with more time. 

Overall, perfect construction, draw, smoke output, and burn. With time I’m hoping the edge will come off and this will be a very unique and wonderfully flavored cigar. Also, check out this awesome packaging!  Thanks FOH!!
