mprach024 Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 Those are handsome looking. I love that color shade on a Monte. Another 54 in the books for Cuba. Can’t beat them join them I guess.
havanaclub Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 That just an overfilled Edmundo? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1

BoliDan Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 This one has me yawning. Slightly fatter and slightly shorter Edmundo. I know we got some big edmundo fan here though. Looking forward to thoughts and reviews on it.

So the wrapper is an oily one is what they're most likely trying to say. For me, the trend toward limited and regional editions with large ring gauges is just one more reason to stay away from them. But everyone's mileage may vary.
Edicion Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 Seems like there's a Monte Edmundo in every size soon 1

metro_habanos Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Nice looking. Untouchable unless you know of a LCDH in Spain. Still waiting for the Herederos.
NSXCIGAR Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 If it's as good as the Supremos they'll have something. At least it's not a Montesco.
westg Posted October 6, 2022 Posted October 6, 2022 Love the size . Looking forward to these immensely!

Popular Post NSXCIGAR Posted October 19, 2022 Popular Post Posted October 19, 2022 Well, I stumbled across one in Cuba, and only one: Really thin wrapper and the cigar was very light. Was expecting a wind tunnel draw but shockingly it wasn't too loose at all. Also I would swear this was a 52 RG. Does not feel like a 54 at all. Fired it up at a friend's place across from the Nacional. WE band was pretty loose so I removed it. I think this WE band is a little goofy looking anyway. The verdict: it's absolutely fantastic. Wow. First puff is a blast of Milk Chocolate. After about a half inch it settles and the tanginess comes in tandem. What an incredible balance between the Milk Chocolate and Monte tanginess--the tanginess that usually takes 5 years or more to appear in most Montes. This is at least 50% tangy. I would imagine this is what a great 15-year old PE would taste like. Flavor in every puff. Burn was very good until the final third when the loose pack and youth began to take a toll. Did get a tad hot at the very end, but again this might just have been due to the loose rolling. The tanginess sets this Monte apart from every other (fresher) Monte. I've never gotten so much of it in a new Monte since the late 2000s. Not as much punchiness as the PE but the flavors are more pronounced. This is very much like the Monte Especial/Esp 2 of 15 years ago. I will knock it down to 94 points due to the construction and heat at the end but I was thinking 95 the whole time. Maybe even a 96 if I was feeling super generous. I know this was one example and an early one at that but if these are going to be like this one it would displace the DE as the best Monte for me. This is everything that's great about Monte. No idea what the price point is on these as I don't recall what I was charged for the single if anything. They aren't on the new price list. If they're priced less than the Edmundo and DE it's a huge winner. 10 4
NSXCIGAR Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 Just had my second example. A box hit the LCDH. Not quite as good as the first example I had in Cuba but definitely the same blend. Very enjoyable. Again, definitely blended differently than every other Monte. I would say it's closest to a PE but not as strong and much more complex and rich. Heavy milk chocolate and tangy. This one is an easy 93-94 points. I'm loving these. Looks like it will be priced between the Edmundo and DE. 4

shokao Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 Since I love PE and Edmundo, I'm looking forward to try this cigar. I hope the price is reasonable which is hard to achieve these days. 1

I scored the first one I had in Cuba a solid 95. No sign of age with these; in fact they taste well-aged as I've mentioned. Very tangy. A true Monte fan will like them very much. 4
NSXCIGAR Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 Smoking my third example, months apart. All I'll say is I can't wait for people to try these. Buckle up. 3

Fugu Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 Around 19 bucks in Europe, regular price. So +/- Edmundo pricing. A first batch had been available some weeks ago. Didn’t jump.
