El Presidente Posted September 26, 2022 Posted September 26, 2022 When you are looking for something completely different in terms of flavour....what do you reach for? What is your "change of pace" cigar? Do you have one?
KCCubano Posted September 26, 2022 Posted September 26, 2022 Divino or any SC or VR. All have a unique profile for my palate. 2
Popular Post canadianbeaver Posted September 26, 2022 Popular Post Posted September 26, 2022 What a great question, Rob. As a pure cc smoker since joining FOH since earliest 2000’s, we have only begun trying others since prices have gone through the roof. Our cigar club members smoke all marcas you can think of, but not at our house. We are so picky. Recently some rare cigars have come our way for the first time. So interesting and just wonderful. 1. Vintage Padron, 2005 or so, not having to be most expensive ones. So 3000, 5000. But love the Torpedo. 2. Casa Fuente, the cigar made for the club in Las Vegas. Available in online cigar retailers too. Tasty and smokey and better than regular Arturo Fuente. Much milder than Opus X, but about the same price. CB 9
jakebarnes Posted September 26, 2022 Posted September 26, 2022 Regios, SCdlH anything, Vegas Robaina Unicos. 4
Ford2112 Posted September 26, 2022 Posted September 26, 2022 I reach for a Padron or some other NC. In the CC realm its usually a Cohiba or Trinidad 🥴 4
skindiver Posted September 26, 2022 Posted September 26, 2022 I just need a way to get back into this forum, Rob! just got off the phone with hamlet and want to try those new blends, but I am sooo confused! need a ride downtown Havana? No problem! 1
Edicion Posted September 26, 2022 Posted September 26, 2022 In the past when I was smoking CC exclusively I would venture out into the NC world to change things up. Later I found the Nudies, and other great custom blends that I threw in the rotation to change pace. I also regularly threw (still do) in premium sticks like Talisman, Siglo VI, RE and LEs every now and then. When I went to one of the local lounges , I would purposely look for something that I didn't keep in stock, to change things up and discover something new. Trying things like Vegueros, Cuabas, Sancho Panza. 3
Islandboy Posted September 26, 2022 Posted September 26, 2022 I just happened to be looking for a change of pace CC this evening, something with a unique flavor profile, so I grabbed a 2018 La Fuerza, and it’s delicious. For a change of pace outside of CC’s, I’ll grab a Nudie or a Casdagli. 3
Popular Post NSXCIGAR Posted September 26, 2022 Popular Post Posted September 26, 2022 Cigars that I enjoy a few times a year but have no desire to smoke more frequently: JL S1/S2 Hoyo RS Punch DC SLR Regios SP Beli & NP Lusi RyJ Churchill Pretty much all Cohiba 5
Popular Post JohnS Posted September 26, 2022 Popular Post Posted September 26, 2022 Bolivar Belicosos Finos, Vegas Robaina Famosos, Fonseca No.1s and Hoyo de Monterrey Le Hoyo du Princes. 6
Ites Posted September 26, 2022 Posted September 26, 2022 Change of pace for me is either going up in ring gauge meaning I'll grab a JL1 or Mag46, or go the nc route which means Padrón londres (which I haven't been able to find for a year) or Af Don carlos nr. 4. Coincidentally I also consider all four heavier and more "in your face" than the more subtle smokes I usually grab. 2
RDB Posted September 26, 2022 Posted September 26, 2022 Vegas Robaina, San Cristobal, and Juan Lopez. All very different from my standby Partagas & Monte. 3
99call Posted September 26, 2022 Posted September 26, 2022 Revving up...........BBF, R&J Cazadores, R&J Royales Revving down......Vegueros Tapados, Fonseca 1, PL Picadores, Cuaba Distinguidos 4
BrightonCorgi Posted September 26, 2022 Posted September 26, 2022 If I want to really shake things up, I go for a Toscano. 1 1
Chibearsv Posted September 26, 2022 Posted September 26, 2022 Every day is a change of pace of sorts. It just depends which flavor profile and Vitola sounds good for each day. Otherwise, if I had unlimited funds, the answer would be anything that isn't Esplendidos. 2
Popular Post Capn_Jackson Posted September 26, 2022 Popular Post Posted September 26, 2022 For a change of pace I’ll sometimes grab a NC, such as: —Padron 1964’s in natural wrapper, any ring gauge between the Exclusivo and the Hermoso. Even after getting into CC’s, these were still my go-to smokes until I built up my CC stock. —Tatuaje Havana VI. I still reach for these at least once every two weeks. —AF Añejo 46’s. I don’t smoke them often enough, but have got a good stock that are very well-aged. They come out only when friends are over. —AF Don Carlos “The Man’s 80th” robusto. Same as above. Well-aged stock that I rarely smoke unless friends are over. Great smoke! Within CC’s, I always prefer a smoke heavy on baking spice/graham cracker/nutmeg/dark cocoa notes, so for a change of pace I’ll reach for a Montecristo Petit Edmundo, or Monte 4. Something with a lot of “chocolate” as opposed to “cocoa.” 5 1
Popular Post LizardGizmo Posted September 26, 2022 Popular Post Posted September 26, 2022 Davidoff Late Hour in Robusto or Churchill is a nice detour for me. Works especially well in the colder months for some reason. Summertime it's the Coronas Claro or Choix Supreme - I love them both, but they just haven't found a way to get into my regular rotation. I have to be in a specific mood for the citrus thing that either provides. 5
GVan Posted September 26, 2022 Posted September 26, 2022 Change of pace = SPNP, Mag 50, SCdlH La Punta or a Dip 2. None of these in my regular rotation but love them all. 2
karp Posted September 26, 2022 Posted September 26, 2022 VR Famosos, and SCdH la Fuerzas will do it. Both are great! 3
joeypots Posted September 26, 2022 Posted September 26, 2022 Monte Cristo A. Maybe not unique in flavor but the A certainly isn’t an everyday smoke. 2
Popular Post Blakes Posted September 26, 2022 Popular Post Posted September 26, 2022 Sancho Panza for me, love the SP profile but I've found I get much more enjoyment out of it when I only smoke them occasionally. 5
