Popular Post Akela3rd Posted September 17, 2022 Popular Post Posted September 17, 2022 Box pressed within an inch of it's life, firm and angular, but didn't feel overweight. I was a little trepidatious but was greeted with a light draw from a shallow v-cut (key ring cutter, neat little thing that cost pennies). Nice wrapper, very smooth. Cold draw was new leather. A still and warm day and I was surrounded by the delicious and sweet smelling aroma on lighting. The leather was dominant and fresh in character. These are usually quite powerful but this example seemed less so. As it opened there was a slight floral note which seemed to come and go through the first half, disappearing eventually. It certainly, as these do, reminded me of the Tubos No1 - not as rich but still a satisfying mix of leather, biscuit, sweet herbs, slight cocoa. Nothing harsh at all and didn't really alter much in it's lovely profile, just a nice lilting journey through Bolivar country. I was expecting more oomph but it never ramped up as I expected it to even as I threatened burnt my fingernails at the last. It had burned perfectly throughout. I binged on the No1 when I got my hands on a few boxes as they were being deleted but may have to dip into my remaining few soon... A cigar that wasn't quite what I anticipated but nonetheless was excellent. Score - Mid-nineties, whatever that may mean. (This review was almost on the Bolivar Soberanos LE but I couldn't bring myself to crack the box. It'll be interesting to see if anyone else does one as it doesn't get seen much around these here parts) Sent by spooky action at a distance 7 1
KCCubano Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 Nice review. I have found recent production to be very good and steady performers.
Fugu Posted September 18, 2022 Posted September 18, 2022 I find your description very representative of young BPC @Akela3rd. Giv’em five more years before your next sampling 😅 1
