Now, this. And while Rossi is probably right on an absolute “scale“ (I tend to concur) I for one answered this poll in the sense of “what’s your favourite” rather than what’s „the best“ Monte. For me, that always has a practicality aspect, a favourite I have to reach for often. So e.g. the A could never make the top, as great a cigar as it may be. How often do you have the 3+ hours time to enjoy one...

I don't smoke many montes. Mainly not in my smoking box.

Been very disappointed also very pleased though. Stand outs aged no.2, no.5, open eagle, 80 Anni., Especial. Vast amount of the range I've not had though. So will vote, but with limited exposure.

Although I only had No. 1 and No. 4; Dumas and Leyenda for Montecristo, my top 3 Montecristo cigars are:

1. 1935 Leyenda
2. No. 1
3. No. 4

I'm also eagerly wanted to try Especial #1, Especial No. 2, and A since I'm a huge fan of long CCs like Monte #1 😃

Love Dumas since they came out in 2017. Then only shared if you knew a secret password or something. Monte 4’s are perfect for us and never went out of stock.

Well he did say that sometimes a, giant phallic symbol, I mean cigar, is just a cigar.

But he did smoke much smaller cigars.

Certainly there is some projection when smoking an A.  Just like driving a big pick up truck or bright Lamborghini.  You want others to know and validation of one's own ego.  It's all in good fun.  Something that isn't so common today.

1. Leyenda - was wowed by a 5er TUA batch from here a while ago.Hands down for me the best of new school Montecristo.

2. Monte #2 - classic piramides, as inconsistent as Neopolitan tailors or the Great British weather, when they're on, they're

3. Monte PE - *caveat dark wrapper and aged.Was gifted one from @monkey66 (I think) from 2012 and it blew my mind.Taste sensation overload, Montecristo cocoa/coffee/cream

Looking at these three the Monte Esp #2 (dark wrapper and aged) should really be placed at no.2 but since it's just 3 I'll leave it at that

Monte 2 is tops for me, especially 2019-2021. Dumas is second, as I love the line but prefer smaller the smaller RG. Third is Monte A, as it's just so special when I'm able to have one. Distant runner up is Monte 1, as I'm a sucker for a lonsdale - despite the inconsistent construction.
