The national media has pretty much determined that Pittsburg should win this game rather easily (+14 - 17 pts). Now, while I agree that Pittsburg is playing very good football right now, I wouldn't be too quick to write the Seahawks off. If the Seattle can run the ball effectively, I think they should be right there at the end.

I believe the coaches are basically a wash. I think you can say the same regarding the QB's. Running games are both very good, but I would give the edge to Seattle. It's the defensive side of the ball that I believe is the difference. I am of the opinion that Pittsburg is playing better defense at this stage of the season. Maybe I say that because I have watched their entire playoff run; can't say the same for Seattle. Let's face it, the Steelers have gone on the road three straight weeks and won... convincingly! They manhandled the Bengals (yes, the injury to Carson Palmer was HUGE, but even with Palmer I believe the Steelers would have prevailed). They made Peyton Manning and the Colts look foolish for 50 minutes (I really wanted the Colts to win for Coach Dungy). And then they went into Denver and thumbed their noses at Shanahan and the Broncos. In all three games, it was the defense that led the way. And oh yeah, Rothlisburger (sp?) wasn't too shabby either.

For Seattle to win, Coach Holmgren will need to execute a game plan that catches the Steelers off guard and keeps them on their heels all day. I am not sure there isn't anything the Steelers haven't seen this playoff season that would catch them off guard. In addition, I am not sure the Seahawks have enough on offense to worry the Steelers. That said, Seattle still has one of the leagues best running games. And as they say, "If you can run the ball and play good solid defense, you have a very good chance at winning."

I look for the Seahawks to take the air out of the game and try and run the ball down Pittsburg's throat. Unfortunately for Seahawk fans, I don't think they will be successful.

I'll take the Steelers by 10 points or less!

Yup. I love that quote "Everything that has happened up till now doesn't matter. It's how you play today."

Also I really don't like Pittsburg. ;-)

I just hope we get a good game.

Menu's planned and the wine and beer is at the ready... I'm still trying to get my smoking lineup together.

Sorry but Pittsburg will be the hands down winner they are just a better team ..:ok:

I think that Pittsburg is the better team right now. However, this reminds me of the over-confidence the Bills had when they lost to Giants a few years ago.

They do seem to be the team that really looks like it's peaking at just the right time...A complete team....hard to bet against them....I just really really don't like Pittsburg.;-)

Could be a rough day for me. I like the Seahawks but I think Pitt. will win. Would be nice for Seattle to win one for the first time.

Go Seahawks!

Never really liked Pitts, and the Steelers uniforms suck. Hope Bettas (sp) has a good and final game, his knees are shot and younger players out run him all the time.

Bettas maybe can't run as fast but other than that he has not lost nothing Tampa.

Steelers are going to crush them.

Man i am i talking alot of $hit :-D

Watching the NFL Network and the whole Jerramy Stevens (Seattle WR) -v- Joey Porter (Pittsburg LB) trash talking episode makes me wonder a little about Joey Porter. This guy talks way too much smack! On gameday, someone from Seattle, needs to step up and smack the sh!t out of this guy. For all that Stevens said, and even Porter admits there wasn't anything wrong with it, he (Porter) has blown this thing way out of proportion! I wonder about guys like Porter that need to get into a verbal battle to psych themselves up. I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I can do without alot of the trash talking.

While I would like to see the Steelers win (really for Cower's & Bettis' sakes), I would love to see Stevens take and pancake Porter's butt into the turf. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening. One thing is for sure, Mr. Porter certainly has added a little spice to an otherwise dull super bowl week. It will be fun to watch this matchup come sunday.

Every now and then in post season plays - an underdog team starts beating opponents they -at least on paper- should lose to. This year - the Steelers being the 6th seed and now the AFC champs seem to be that team.

And since I received my 33rd Masonic Degree in Pittsburgh and i HATE Starbucks coffee (should be called CHARbucks) and starbucks is located in Seattle and it is always raining in Seattle - I am backing the Steelers....

Should any SeaHawk fan wish to bet the game even (just win or lose - no point spreads) - I have a 5er of beautiful Habanas against your 5er of Habanas that say the Steelers will be Super Bowl Champs on Sunday evening...

Any takers want to back Seattle ??????
