Popular Post saltbox Posted August 15, 2022 Popular Post Posted August 15, 2022 So far with Ramon Allones, I've really enjoyed the RASS but the RASCC has been just okay. It's been about 8 months since I last had one so decided to sneak one into an otherwise busy weekend. First third: opens immediately into the nice sharp plum skin tartness on the retrohale I get from Ramon Allones. It's interesting to hear everyone's takes on this note. Raisin seems to be the most common descriptor. For me, it's always hit my palate with a much sharper tartness to it and given the plum tree in the backyard, I'm inclined to call it plum skin. There's a bit of cream and almond nuttiness, but not as much as in the RASS I've been enjoying. Middle third: the tartness has become a bit more subdued, leaving a more basic stewed fruit and almond nuttiness. Last third: not much change, just more of the same. In such a short smoke trying to divide the profile into thirds seems a bit pointless, but I like to keep things consistent in my notes. Overall: a pleasant smoke but it didn't do anything to change my mind about the vitola. Hard to compare just one box to another but the RASS I've had just have a more intense sweetness and creaminess, a pattern I've noticed in others too (e.g. preferring the San Cristobal La Fuerza over the El Principe). 88/100 9
