oneizzzz Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 I have a hard time keeping recent production Monte 2 burning well. I have to re-light a lot and the burn is uneven. Smoking from two boxes, one HQ and one PSP- both from 2020. Anyone else have this experience? Any suggestions?
NSXCIGAR Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 I've had issues with Monte in high humidity but not specifically a Monte 2.
El Presidente Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 Drop them a few points in RH or dry box a few with no humidification for 3-4 days. Have been smoking through 20 and 21 seconds with no more than the occasional normal CC issues. 2 1
Tstew75 Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 As others have said drop that RH way down & you'll see a big difference 1
winelover Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 No issues at all with a box of Jan 2022 As others have said, RH sounds as if it is too high 2
MrBirdman Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 Funny I just saw this after smoking a Monte 2 that looked perfect in construction and had horrible burn issues. I share your experience with recent production (2019/2020) - I keep at a relatively low RH (65%). I have just assumed it's bad luck - I don't smoke many 2's. I will give 62% a go. 2
BrightonCorgi Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 They could just be hydroscopic in their youth. Hide the boxes for a few years and check back. 3
LizardGizmo Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 At a strict 62rh, my 2019-2021 Monte 2s have been some of the best Monte's I've ever had. All sourced from FOH (direct and secondary market purchases before I got on 24:24) and varying in grade...I just can't get enough of them. 2
